THE FULL SCOOP
I was born in Edmonton,
on December 17th, 1971. After a few moves due to my dad's job, we
ended up in
for 10 years, before moving again when I was in the 9th grade to Lethbridge,
I thought the world was going to end but there I made my best friends,
many of whom I still remain close to. However, a traumatic move came
halfway through Grade 12 when my dad got transferred (AGAIN!!) 2 hours
north to Calgary, Alberta. I grudgingly (and bitterly) finished my
high school there before graduating from Henry Wisewood in June 1989, a
virtual stranger among people who had grown up together and had no interest
in meeting someone 6 months before graduating. Meanwhile, I was left
off my graduating class at Lethbridge
Collegiate Institute back home in Lethbridge but managed to sneak into
the ceremonies and banquet afterward with all of my friends. I took
2 years off after high school and worked at Boston Pizza ending up as Kitchen
Manager there before joining the post-secondary forces in January 1992
back "home" at the University of Lethbridge.
In July 1997, I graduated from the University of Lethbridge in Lethbridge, Alberta after a seemingly endless barrage of novels, essays and exams. Upon relocating to Victoria, British Columbia with my wife, Stacey, I sought out my niche in life only to toil at several menial jobs in restaurant kitchens and as a shipper/receiver at Birks Jewellers. In November of 1998, my wife was transferred through her job from Victoria to the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. After a 2-year stint as a truck dispatcher and assistant warehouse manager at Trail Appliances, I began working for Sylvan Distribution, the distribution centre for Norske Canada, the second largest paper manufacturer in North America in November 2000. I am currently in charge of the containerizing of newsprint for export to Asia and South America. Since coming over here, we have lived in Richmond, Vancouver, New Westminster and in February 2003, we bought our first home in Langley.
On December 21st, 2002, we welcomed our first child--Ronan Michael Cowie. He was a whopping 10 lbs. 3 oz. and 23 1/2" long, the second largest baby EVER born at Richmond Hospital!!
My hobbies and interests include working on my KISS website, music & movies (I own just over 2,300 CD's and around 900 DVD's), cooking and adding to my tattoos. I currently have 4 tattoos (3 large and 1 small) and have been gradually adding to the totals over the past 15 years. Stacey has quite a few more than I do, too! You can have a look at them here. I am also a writer/reviewer/interviewer/photographer for Metal Rules.
Cowie's Corner was started in May of 1997, and branched out to include several useless pages of drivel that amounted to nothing more than a waste of space (much like this one!). However, one page, Sean's Kanadian KISS Konnection, seemed to be frequently visited and became quite popular. Since then, SKKK has blossomed into one of a very short list of Canadian KISS websites and heaps of accolades have come my way from other webmasters as well as fellow Canadian fans searching for information about the band.
