Setting(s) and Links

Though there is doubtless a strong desire to play TV show characters, it is the goal of this room to focus on other denizens of the setting. Appropriately, these are the suggested links to become familiar with the setting if one has not been watching the show. Showtimes for "Andromeda" in your area can be found here.

  • Tribune Entertainment's Andromeda page - Kindly note that nearly every link on this page can be found by going there and searching.
  • Rommie's Page - from the Ship Made Flesh herself. Includes a virtual tour of the ship and the New Systems Commonwealth Charter.
  • The Backstory - A good read for everyone who intends to play in this setting, this explains approximately the last 3000 years of history and how the Long Night fell.
  • Harper's Brain - Rommie's resident tech genius has his own site with IC commentary and insights to the setting.
  • All Systems University - includes a timeline and reference materials to nearly every subject covered in the show.
  • Brief bios of persons of interest and summaries of previous episodes. The New Systems Commonwealth RP currently takes place during the first season. We started just after episode "Harper 2.0", and have since advanced to just after the episode "The Devil Take The Hindmost".

There are a number of worlds and space stations, including famous (and infamous) spots, to meet and hang out, such as the Albuquerque Drift, which is described as a sort of run down version of Las Vegas, in space. Another setting is the world of Diphda Five, where Beka and Trance dealt with Beka's "uncle Sid", now known as Mr. Profit. Both settings house everything from the opulent to lowly Flash (a synaptic enhancer that makes users faster and smarter, but when abused, has dangerous side effects) addicts.

These are both good places to begin RP, with the Albuquerque Drift being ideal for spacers and Diphda Five being for those characters who prefer to have a little land under their feet. Both offer ample opportunity to learn more about this so-called 'High Guard' ship and her strange crew.

Other links, including some excellent fan sites. If you take an image from their site, do NOT link it in chat directly from the site in question.
