A Canadian drama with much humour

 

The one act play is set in a gym in the present. Three members go to the gym, two regularly and one reluctantly. They all want changes in their bodies but there are other changes that can occur. William J. Spaford is an unfit businessman with worries, goals but no dreams and doesn't understand people who have dreams. Barbara Meeds is in pain and is in the gym to forget. Ken Grant is retired and happy and sees no need for goals but is he completely happy? Does Lesley Method , the personal trainer have dreams? Is she more than a personnel trainer? Will we notice the changes after leaving the Fleetwood Gym?

 The one act play is set at Vancouver International Airport in the present. Three people arrive at the boarding gate each with their own problems. They unexpectedly learn about each other. Two are standbys. Will they all make their flights? Do they all want to make their flights?

 Moniques’s Interview  One Act Play   By John Joyce

 This play features five actors. Two women and three men. Three candidates await George Franks for an interview for a technical sales position. A French Canadian bookkeeper, a temporary secretary and a cleaning lady add confusion to the candidates and the audience. This is a new twist on who did it? Who will get the job? The candidates essentially interview themselves and even talk about fixing the interview. Would you have passed this interview?

A Canadian drama with much humour
 The two act play is set in North Vancouver in the present. Three people associated with a theatre group meet on the pretext of writing a new play. Each has his own agenda. Claire Bailey hosts the meeting. She is married to Jim Bailey a successful businessman who has recently been transferred in to the area. Claire Bailey was an actress once and would like to return to the stage with meaningful current play. Ken Davis is only interested in learning about Jim Bailey. Will Jim Bailey's company bid on the contract? Wants to sell him a piece of equipment and hopes to meet him. Ken gets frustrated when he is expected to contribute to the play writing process. Anne Breen is the former girl friend of Ken Davis. Comes to the meeting to meet Ken Davis hoping they will get back together. A lot of interruptions and arguments ensue. Anne and Ken have a fight. No agreements except to all meet again. The question? Can you sit down and create a work of art as a team. The answer. is no. But let us spend a lot of time saying no.

 Claire Bailey In late 30's early 40's. Has a Ph.D. in chemistry and was an actress before having children.. Married to a successful business man Jim Bailey. Bored. They have recently moved into the area. Wants her own life. Hopes that by hosting the evening she might makes some friends outside her husbands business associates.
 Ken Davis In late 30's early 40's. An engineer who is now the salesman for his company. Wants to meet Claire Bailey's husband. Hoping to learn more about a potential contract. Knows and cares little about the theatre. Former boy friend of Anne Breen
 Anne Breen Middle late 30's. No higher education. Former girlfriend of Ken Davis and wants to re start the friendship. Very theatrical. Can dance and is quick with theatre ideas
