After playing lovebirds Michael Kelso and Jackie Burkhart for eight seasons on That '70s Show, the sitcom that launched them to stardom, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are reportedly now dating for real.

And here we thought they were just friends. But is life really imitating art?

It is if you believe X17Online, which quoted sources as saying the former costars were definitely getting romantic after being spotted out in L.A. holding hands, shopping together and spending the night at each other's respective pads.

According to the site, the 34-year-old Kutcher and 28-year-old Kunis recently went looking for furniture and then cozied up while sharing a sushi dinner in Studio City before retreating to the new Hollywood Hills home he recently purchased.

News of the potential romance comes after the Two and a Half Men star was recently said to be hooking up with Rihanna, rumors that the R&B star quickly quashed.

In November, Moore announced her intention to end her six-year union with Kutcher following an alleged fling the serial tweeter had in San Diego two months prior.

If today's report turns out to be true, Ashton and Mila sure do make a cute couple as he was photographed by paparazzi on their night out sporting a baseball cap and sweater while she was looking fine in a striped blouse and skinny jeans.

'Two and a Half Men': Ashton Kutcher contract talks 'will get done' and deal could be announced soon

Deadline is reporting that, according to a source, contract talks between Kutcher and CBS are "moving in the right direction and will get done." The source adds that no one "is concerned that the deal would be derailed."

The publication also adds that Kutcher's new deal and the series renewal could be announced within a few weeks. Considering the CBS Upfronts are just about a month away, this timetable makes sense.

Kutcher's addition to the long-running comedy has worked out well for CBS. The show is currently averaging 15.6 million viewers for the 2011-12 season. This puts the program at the 11th spot, and it's the second-highest-rated comedy behind "The Big Bang Theory." That said, Monday's (April 9) episode had just 10.4 million viewers, its lowest total since May 2007.

Kutcher invests in flat fee tech startup Dwolla

The "Two and a Half Men" star didn't disclose the size of the investment his venture capital company made in Dwolla, which is hoping to lure customers seeking an alternative to the percentage-based fees typical of credit card purchases and other online payment methods.

Kutcher told The Des Moines Register (http://dmreg.co/IBd9UI) on Tuesday that he wants to help build a "killer" company in Iowa "and put a bunch of people to work here."

"I think this company could employ hundreds of people within the next couple of years," he said. "The potential for Dwolla is to be the backbone for the global financial exchange. Because it's built to do that. It's built better than any system that currently exists."

Dwolla said in February that it had raised $5 million from five investment firms, but it kept Kutcher's involvement secret until now.

Kutcher's company, A-Grade Investments, has invested in about 40 tech startups and tech companies, including popular services such as Foursquare, Zaarly and Skype. The Cedar Rapids native, who provided feedback to Dwolla's 20 employees at its downtown headquarters on Monday, said he sees the company having a huge impact.

Dwolla's founder, Ben Milne, said he talks with Kutcher via Skype every month or so. Milne says Kutcher's insights have "shown up in the product already in a million different ways."

Their relationship began when Bo Fishback, CEO of the digital marketplace Zaarly, told Kutcher he should meet Milne. They got together at Thanksgiving last year at Kutcher's brother's house and his father's garage, he said.

The two drew up ideas on whiteboards. Kutcher said he was impressed with Milne's vision.

Kutcher has won a reputation as a savvy tech investor and social media star, and entrepreneurs across the country compete to get time with him.

It's not just because of a fat paycheck. He has launched his own app and a social media production company and he brings a huge audience to any new company he chooses to invest in and talk about. He has more than 10 million followers on his Twitter account and 12.2 million "likes" on Facebook.

Ashton Kutcher: Making Fun of Country Stars?

At Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards, Kutcher, 34, donned a black 10-gallon hat and a bright red blazer for the evening as he presented the award for female vocalist of the year to Miranda Lambert.

The Two and a Half Men star also made a show of crooning part of George Strait's "I Cross My Heart" before handing the award to Lambert, 28.

Kutcher's antics were a hit with viewers, as he claimed 49 percent of the votes for "favorite country music wannabe" in PEOPLE's reader poll.

But the stars themselves were less amused.

"Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me? Watching it back now and I'm kinda wondering?" Lambert Tweeted after the ceremony.

Singer Justin Moore was more definitive in his criticism.

"Seen Ashton kutcher at the acms tonight," Moore Tweeted. "What a douche! I don't care for people making a mockery of the way country artists dress."

On Tuesday, Kutcher took to Twitter to address the accusations, writing to Lambert: "I Am One Of The biggest country Music fans you've ever met. Wasn't making fun at all."

The quitclaim deed is significant, because it shows Ashton and Demi are trying to keep their financial affairs separate after their split. It's a clear sign divorce is imminent.

Ashton Kutcher to Play Steve Jobs in Indie Film

The Two and a Half Men star will play the late Steve Jobs in the indie film Jobs, Variety reports.

Jobs will follow the Apple co-founder from willful hippie to running one of the most successful computer companies in the world. Matt Whitley wrote the script and Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) will direct the film.

Kutcher, who is currently negotiating a deal to return to Men next season, will start shooting Jobs in May while on hiatus from the CBS sitcom.

ER star Noah Wyle previously played Jobs opposite Anthony Michael Hall as Bill Gates in the 1999 TNT movie Pirates of Silicon Valley.

Jobs died in October 2011 at the age of 56 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Report: Kutcher, Cryer Offered Two More Years on Men... But No Raise!

CBS and Warner Bros. Television have reportedly offered a deal to Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer to return for two more seasons, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The offers, however, do not include raises to top what the stars are currently earning.

Kutcher stepped in last May to fill the void left by Charlie Sheen, who was fired from the sitcom. While Sheen earned $1.25 million per episode, Kutcher has been making $700,000 per episode and according to an earlier TV Guide Magazine report, has been holding out for $1 million per episode. Cryer reportedly makes a little less than $700,000.

The lack of a raise could be a sticking point for negotiations. If the show is renewed, it would enter its 10th season in the fall. CBS has declined to comment.

Two and a Half Men: Ashton Kutcher Close to Signing Multimillion-Dollar Deal

That's the word coming from inside sources on Two and a Half Men, who confirm an offer has been made to Ashton Kutcher to return for an (expected) 10th season.

We know that the Modern Family cast isn't asking for Friends-type money (only a fifth of it). But is Ashton?

Yes, he is. Sources confirm the current offer being discussed is about $1 million per episode, which, assuming the series produces 22 episodes in the season, brings his annual Men salary to $22 million. (Try not to be too impressed at our multiplication skills.)

"The talks are going well and we're getting close to finalizing," a source familiar with the negotiations tells us. Reps for the network and studio have yet to respond to requests for comment.

Ashton currently reportedly makes $700,000 per episode, while Charlie Sheen raked in $1.25 million in his final season.

"I don't see any reason to continue without [Ashton]," Two and a Half Men boss Chuck Lorre told us. "He's a delight, he's a really nice man and he's a really easygoing guy, he's very relaxed and very professional. He shows up and he's ready to work, he's prepared and he brings it."

Though CBS has yet to officially announce a pickup for a 10th Men season, the series is fully expected to be on the roster when the network's full season lineup is announced mid-May.

Ashton Kutcher Moves Closer to New Two and a Half Men Deal

CBS is taking lead in the talks, even though Warner Bros. TV produces the show. That's because, at this point in the show's life — Two and a Half Men enters its 10th season next year — the network's license fee covers the cost of the show. That cost, of course, could go up with a pay raise for Kutcher, so it's in CBS' best interest to handle the negotiation.

Kutcher is already believed to be the highest-paid star in TV comedy, at around $700,000 an episode. No one would be surprised if that number reached the seven figures: The actor wisely signed only a one-year deal last spring to come on board and replace fired star Charlie Sheen, who had been making $1.25 million an episode before his exit.

Now Kutcher stands to reap what will likely be an enormous payday (not to mention a piece of the show's backend), thanks to Two and a Half Men's ongoing success. With Kutcher on board, Two and a Half Men remains a strong player for CBS and a profit machine for both Warner Bros. TV and creator Chuck Lorre.

Lorre and Kutcher have been coy about the actor's return, but have offered plenty of hints that such a move was likely. "I absolutely adore the time that I'm having. I'm having a great time on the show," Kutcher said earlier this month at the PaleyFest panel for Two and a Half Men. The show wasn't included in CBS' recent mass pickup of 18 shows for next season, but only because Kutcher's deal wasn't done. At the PaleyFest, Lorre expressed optimism that a renewal was coming: "It's unusual when they cancel a show that's in the Top 10. I think there's hope."

'Punk'd' returns with Ashton Kutcher behind the scenes

"What are you doing? I feel you're doing something behind my back," Kutcher says. "Are you giving me rabbit ears and I'm not knowing it?"

Yes, he is, and it's more than fitting. Bieber will be the first guest host of MTV's new edition of Punk'd (Thursday, 10 ET/PT), a show co-created by Kutcher that added a new pop-culture term for the word prank.

This Punk'd, back after a five-year break, will feature a different celebrity guest host each week in the manner of Saturday Night Live. Hosts, who will bring in their own celebrity friends as marks, include Bam Margera, Hayden Panettiere, Kellan Lutz, Nick Cannon and Heather Morris. Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Josh Hutcherson, Emma Roberts and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi are among those getting punked.

"There's a whole new crop of talented stars, celebrities, entertainers and athletes that weren't even around when we were shooting the show," Kutcher says during a roundtable sitdown with Bieber and fellow Punk'd co-creator and executive producer Jason Goldberg at a recording studio.

The young talent adds a new dynamic and gives the show a varied feel from host to host, Goldberg says. "It's fresh thinking. It's a different way to approach the show. Justin's show is so different from Bam's show, but both work. It's their thinking and their vision for it."

'An irresistible stew'

Punk'd, part of a hidden-camera tradition that goes back more than a half-century to Candid Camera, came along during an early wave of reality TV, combining pranks with the public interest in celebrity, says Ron Simon, television and radio curator at the Paley Center for Media.

"Practical jokes, cameras and celebrities — it's an irresistible stew for many Americans," he says. "The whole idea of celebrities punking each other was very appealing."

Combining the show's cultural cachet with young stars who match up well with MTV's teen and twentysomething target audience, plus a few alterations, made it a good candidate to bring back, network programming chief David Janollari says.

"We have a history of reinventing (for) our audience, which is ever-changing," he says. "I don't think we've seen a time where this young core audience is more fascinated and more engaged with celebrity. The timing feels perfect."

Kutcher, who used to host, is too busy these days with other projects, including stepping into CBS' Two and a Half Men after Charlie Sheen's departure. Kutcher wouldn't commit on whether he's coming back for a second season, but he says he hopes so.

"I'm having a blast making the show. I'm really grateful because I think people have embraced the new version of the show and my character. I just hope we can continue to entertain people."

Another hosting hitch: He was so associated with the show that it became difficult to entrap unwitting victims with elaborate pranks, or "punks." "You can only get so many calls from Ashton Kutcher and you're like, 'I'm not showing up.' After a while, I couldn't call anyone."

Kutcher developed his taste for pranks when he was growing up in Iowa. "Being from the Midwest, we don't really have sarcasm there. People are just earnest," he says. "I remember when I first moved to New York, I thought everybody was angry with me or mad because they were being sarcastic all the time. Our version of sarcasm was pulling pranks."

Bieber the prankster

Bieber, 18, has a healthy interest in Kutcher's art form, growing up a fan of Punk'd and enjoying pulling pranks. "April Fool's Day is my favorite holiday," he says.

The singer, whose single Boyfriend is out today, was able to lure star friends Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Sean Kingston and Rob Dyrdek for the first episode. The elaborate punking of Swift involved a boat, fireworks and fire. "She's such a sweet girl, so we wanted to go huge on her and make it so she would be really scared," Bieber says.

Goldberg says the singer was the right choice to kick off the new series.

"We knew (Bieber) was perfect, because his first five ideas the lawyers said, 'Absolutely not. No way.' That's when we knew we got the guy."

Bieber, who says he had a blast, found the experience intense. "I'll go and perform for thousands of people, and I don't get nervous. Then, the day I'm punking somebody, I'll get so nervous. I'll feel like this needs to happen. I really want it to work."

Kutcher understands the sentiment, saying he's far more nervous in the Punk'd "pilot's seat" than before a Men taping. "There's so much nervous energy because you only get one take. There's no do-over. You either pull it off or you don't."

Besides guest hosts, Punk'd has other new twists. It will show behind-the-scenes planning and setup, Goldberg says. "You're actually seeing how we're thinking and why and how this is going to have to get done. We didn't do that before."

Social media glitches

Kutcher says the punking is done in good spirit and isn't meant to make anyone look bad. And if the celebrity doesn't like it, which has happened, the segment doesn't run.

"When it happens, it's our job to respect them. I appreciate the right to privacy as a famous person, so I would never want to infringe on that right," he says. (Kutcher, whose relationship and split with Demi Moore has attracted a lot of attention, declined to answer questions about his personal life.)

With social media having exploded since the first Punk'd, it's tougher to maintain secrecy, even for the few hours needed to get the mark in place.

"My actions, where I am or what I'm doing, is on the Internet within three hours of anything I do," Kutcher says. "When you go to set up a bit — you need to be there three hours before to make sure everything is done — the (target) could know something is going on before he ever even showed up."

But social media, as expert Bieber knows, also has fueled interest in the new version, including that of young celebrities for whom being punked means they have arrived.

"I think it's a validator," Kutcher says. "You're zeitgeist-y if you got punked. You're in the public domain. You're someone that people care to watch a prank be pulled on."

The Two and a Half Men star paid a reported $200,000 for a spot on the Virgin Galactic flight and Branson couldn't be more excited about training Kutcher for the once-in-a-lifetime trip.

In a post on his blog, Branson writes, "Our 500th future astronaut customer has just signed up! Even better news is that number 500 is Ashton Kutcher.

"I gave Ashton a quick call to congratulate and welcome him. He is as thrilled as we are at the prospect of being among the first to cross the final frontier (and back!) with us and to experience the magic of space for himself."

A date for Kutcher's expedition has not yet been set as the airline is still in the final stages of an exhaustive safety test program.

“Jesus wanted [his look] back so I gave it to him,” Kutcher joked of his clean-shaven face and short hair at a PaleyFest panel in Los Angeles Monday.

In reality, it was the show’s writers — not divine intervention — that were responsible for Kutcher’s new look: his character, Walden Schmidt, was introduced in the CBS series’ ninth season premiere with long locks and a shaggy beard that have since disappeared.

“We wanted to tell a story about being in a relationship and being pressured to change,” show creator Chuck Lorre said of Walden’s budding relationship with Zoey (Sophie Winkleman). “Walden pushed back and said, ‘You can’t change me. This is who I am.’ But once she stopped trying he got a haircut and changed.”

So what does Kutcher think of his new look?

“I actually was enjoying looking homeless,” he joked.

“People just gave him quarters,” added costar Jon Cryer.

CBS renews 18 shows, fate of 'Two and a Half Men' unknown

In a statement, Nina Tassler head of CBS Entertainment says, "This large-scale renewal is testimony to the strength, stability and success of a deep and diverse roster of top-rated programming."

On the comedy side, the network renewed "2 Broke Girls" and "Mike & Molly." CBS had previously announced multi-year pickups of "How I Met Your Mother" and "The Big Bang Theory."

As for dramas, CBS picked up "NCIS," "NCIS: Los Angeles," "Hawaii Five-0," "Criminal Minds," "CSI," "Person of Interest," "The Mentalist," "Blue Bloods" and "The Good Wife."

The network also renewed reality show "The Amazing Race" and "Undercover Boss" in addition to the previously picked up "Survivor." "60 Minutes" and "48 Hours" will also be back.

While "Two and a Half Men" didn't receive an immediate renewal, the network says they are in "preliminary discussions." This likely means that Ashton Kutcher wants more money. Also missing from this list is "CSI: Miami" and "CSI: New York."

But will we get another season starring Ashton? And what did cocreator Lee Aronsohn tells us was the main different between working with Sheen and working with Kutcher? We got the exclusive scoop...

Ashton, who stayed oddly silent during panel and looked a little worse for wear, all but confirmed he would be back, if the show gets renewed. "I'm adoring the time I'm having. I haven't heard from the powers that be yet." When the audience looked to creator Chuck Lorre, he threw his hands up and responded with a laugh: "That's not me! I'm not the power."

Of course, a Two and a Half Men renewal is pretty much a given. "It's unusual if they cancel a show that's in the top 10. I think there's hope," Lorre said.

The pressure is definitely on CBS now, because before the panel, Lorre told us that if Ashton isn't on board for another season, there really isn't a point to make one. "I don't see any reason to continue without him," he says. "He's a delight, he's a really nice man and he's a really easy-going guy, he's very relaxed and very professional. He shows up and he's ready to work, he's prepared and he brings it."

"It's been terrific, the guy is a pro!" Aronsohn exclaims, adding he would "absolutely" love to have him back for another season. "He's been willing to try anything and he brings a lot of smarts to the character and he's a complete professional. I've got nothing but great things to say about him."

It was also Aronsohn who gave us our favorite soundbite of the night when we asked what the main difference was between working with Sheen and working with Kutcher. "The biggest change is we don't have to check TMZ in the morning to find out if we need to go to work."

During the panel, the Two and Half Men cast and creators spoke honesetly about the last year of scandal and recovery, with Lorre even admitting that it was a "miracle" that they were all there on that stage.

"A year ago today I know we thought the show was over," Lorre admitted. "And it was hurtful and heartbreaking. There was no closure. It was just a very, very dark time. And to have the show be reborn like this and have fun doing it…it's been a great year."

Cryer added: "I would have really been sad that the show ended the way that it did. It was still an amazing ride. Some of it more roller-coaster than others. It surprised me that it retained the fanbase it has and it's been such a joy to keep doing this [character]."

The photos were snapped Thursday -- Ashton suited up with the San Jose police while officers served several arrest warrants in the area.

According to reports, Ashton took part in the sweeps as a representative of the Demi and Ashton Foundation -- a non-profit organization dedicated to the eradication of sexual slavery.

A clean-shaven Kutcher, 34, kept a low profile by skipping the press area and heading straight for his front-row table inside the Beverly Hills Hotel ballroom for the Television Academy's 21st Annual Hall of Fame Ceremony, sponsored by Grey Goose.

Sheen apologizes to Kutcher

Sheen hit headlines last week when he called in to internet news show TMZ Live to rant about his Two and a Half Men replacement, saying, "I'm tired of pretending the show doesn't suck... I'm tired of pretending Ashton doesn't suck.

"It's nothing personal... I just feel bad for him... He's saddled with such bad writing."

Sheen has now issued an apology to Kutcher, but he stands by his criticism of the show.

In an open letter, obtained by TMZ.com, Sheen writes, "Dear Ashton, My bad. I was disrespectful to a man doing his best.

"I got excited and I threw you into the crossfire, but the rest of my statement I stand behind. You however, deserve better. Safety in your travels good sir."

Sheen was fired from the show last March after months of erratic behaviour and Kutcher was subsequently hired to take over.

On Thursday (Feb. 16), Sheen tells TMZ, "I'm tired of lying. I'm tired of pretending the show doesn't suck. I'm tired of pretending Ashton doesn't suck. I'm tired of pretending like they're not completely adrift."

Sheen was pleasantly dormant on the subject of "Men" for at least a few weeks. But then Warner Bros sent him a cease and desist letter telling him to stop using "Men" promo photos to help sell his new show "Anger Management." This set Sheen off, including calling his old show "a steaming pile of a**."

This behavior is far from what Sheen demonstrated in Sept. 2011 at the Emmys. It was then that he says to his old co-workers, "From the bottom of my heart. I wish you nothing but the best for this upcoming season. We spent eight wonderful years together and I know you will continue to make great television."

On the plus side, Sheen doesn't blame Kutcher for what he believes is bad work. He lays that blame squarely on the writers and producers.

"It's nothing personal. I just feel bad for him. He's saddled with such bad writing," Sheen says. "Now it's like there's just nothing about it that's fresh or interesting."

"I'm determined this year to do everything in my power to make the world a better place," he said. "I want to start by getting right after it today. As you may or may not know, I have a foundation that focuses on ending the sexual exploitation of children and any help that you could give towards that would be amazing—an amazing present for me..."

He vowed that all donations would go "towards technology tools for fighting child pornography and the sexual exploitation of children."

"I hope you can join me in that fight and donate whatever you can," he said.

On Wednesday, Bruce Willis was spotted paying a visit to his ex-wife's L.A. home. Later in the day another famous visitor showed up...

Moore's estranged hubby Ashton Kutcher was seen pulling into the actress' driveway in a blacked-out Lexus, per X17.

At the time of Moore's hospitalization last month, Kutcher was modeling alongside Alessandra Ambrosio and partying it up in Brazil. He has yet to comment on Moore's health since he returned to L.A. last Thursday.

Sources tell E! News that Kutcher attended Kaballah services on Saturday morning where he sent most of his time having a one-on-one counseling session with his Kaballah teacher.

He was also back to work on the set of Two and a Half Men earlier this week.

Ashton Kutcher posts about 'gossip,' 'regret' on Facebook

Social media maverick Kutcher posted a page scanned from the book "The Four Agreements" on Facebook along with the words, "Friend sent me this today thought it was valuable to share."

While Kutcher gave little direct explanation about why the words resonated with him, they certainly seem to speak to his current situation with estranged wife Demi Moore, who was rushed to a hospital last week to be treated for "substance abuse" issues.

The scanned page contains four rules, the first of which discusses "gossip" -- something Kutcher has been subjected to for months, ever since it was alleged that he had a hotel tryst with 22-year-old blonde Sara Leal on his sixth wedding anniversary with Moore.

"Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others," the page commands.

The second rule would absolve Kutcher of some culpability in Moore's recent troubles.

"Nothing others do is because of you," the page reads. "What others say and do is a projection of their own reality. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering."

The final rule broaches the topic of "regret," something Kutcher might feel after the unraveling of his marriage and subsequent fallout.

The page reads, "Under any circumstance, simply do your best and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret."

This is the closest Kutcher has come to commenting on Moore's hospitalization. When the news broke in the press, Kutcher was in Brazil celebrating Sao Paulo Fashion Week, which he attended with Moore last year. The "Two and a Half Men" star has been widely criticized for partying while Moore suffered.

Kutcher has since returned to Los Angeles. It's unclear if he and Moore have seen each other or spoken.

Demi Moore Released From Hospital as Ashton Kutcher Returns to L.A.

E! News has confirmed that two days after suffering what sources believed to be a seizure, Demi Moore is no longer being treated at the Sherman Oaks Hospital.

And news of her release comes just as her estranged husband, Ashton Kutcher, is due to return to the States.

Moore was rushed to the facility by ambulance Monday night after a female friend witnessed the 49-year-old begin to violently shake. Sources told E! News that the star was acting "pretty hyper" all night while hosting a birthday party at her home. At the end of the night, a partygoer saw her begin to convulse and dutifully phoned 911.

Though the cause of her episode has not been disclosed, the following day, the actress' rep released a statement saying that Moore has decided to seek treatment for exhaustion and "to improve her overall health."

It's unclear when, exactly, the Margin Call star was discharged from the facility, though it does fall in line with Kutcher'sr eturn.

Though the Two and a Half Men star was both working and playing in Brazil when news of Moore's hospitalization broke, taking part in a shoot for Colcci's new catalog alongside Alessandra Ambrosio (well, that and surfing through the streets of Säo Paolo).

In any case, despite speculation that Ashton cut short his trip, E! News confirms he was always set to return to Los Angeles today and will touch down in the city this evening.

'Teen' antics tortured Demi

One tells us that Ashton continues to flirt with women while still calling Demi “when he is at a low moment.”

Ashton was partying with Brazilian supermodels at Sao Paulo fashion week while painfully thin Demi collapsed at her home Monday night. After being rushed to the hospital, she checked into a treatment facility Tuesday, where she was visited by her daughter Rumer Willis.

A source said, “Ashton has been very sloppy about his private life. He goes between doing ridiculous things and then making overtures to Demi. She took her marriage very seriously, she gave it 100 percent, and his behavior is confusing to her.

“Demi was talking to Kobe Bryant at a CAA Golden Globes party, and Ashton came over and made a scene. He made jealous comments to Kobe, then Ashton went to the bar and was openly flirting with other women.” Following their split, Ashton spent the holidays in Italy with screenwriter Lorene Scafaria.

The source continued, “Demi put up with a lot from Ashton — and despite the rumors, she always gave him the benefit of the doubt. But as soon as he admitted it, she asked him to leave. She helped him build his career, and as soon as he got his own success he became very full of himself. He was pushing and pulling at her for months before they split.

“Now he’s carrying on like a teenager, goes around with other women, and then, when he’s feeling scared and lonely, he reaches out to Demi. It’s really taking its toll on her. Demi is exhausted and humiliated. She needs some time to take care of herself and regroup.”

Demi’s rep declined to comment beyond her earlier statement, “Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health.”

On Monday – the night police responded to a 911 call at Moore's home – Ashton Tweeted a picture of himself "surfing the streets of Sao Paulo" in the rain.

On Tuesday, he was spotted signing autographs and posing for photos with fans before attending a fashion show.

That night, he hit the Summer Soul Festival to catch Florence + The Machine and Bruno Mars in concert with Ambrosio and model Ana Beatriz Barros.

After the show, Kutcher returned to his hotel before stepping out again with Bia Anthony, the wife of Brazilian soccer star Ronaldo Nazério de Lima, and Barros.

"He doesn't stop!" reads a headline on a Brazilian report about Kutcher's late-night partying.

The group was photographed Tuesday night at Bar Numero before making another stop at club Set, where they reportedly stayed until 4 a.m.

Kutcher tweet fuels dating rumours

The actor's publicists dismissed reports of a relationship between the two last year after Kutcher took Scafaria to Pisa, Italy on vacation shortly after his wife Demi Moore announced their marriage was over.

The screenwriter, who previously dated The O.C. star Adam Brody, also spent time with Kutcher at the Yellowstone Club ski resort in Montana last month and they were spotted holding hands over a romantic lunch on Christmas Eve.

But Kutcher's spokesperson insisted, "They're just friends."

Now it appears friendship has turned into romance after the actor tweeted, "First official sleepover with my girl @lorenescafaria so maybe breakfast with everyone next time!"

'Two and a Half Men': Ashton Kutcher angles for bigger pay day on series

Kutcher, who took over on the hit comedy after Charlie Sheen was fired in Spring 2011, came at a sizable cost savings to CBS and Warner Bros, the show's producers. Reports estimate that Kutcher makes $800,000 per episode while, in his final season, Sheen was reportedly taking home upwards of $2 million per show. But now that Kutcher's first season is half way over, and the ratings are as good if not better than what Sheen delivered a year ago, it appears it's time to talk numbers.

When asked about his future with the series, Kutcher says, "The show is outperforming in [ratings] from before I was here. And so I think people are responding to it. And, for me, having a show that people like and people want more of, that'll dictate what my decision is." Kutcher adds that the program's audience is getting slightly younger, which is typically appealing news to potential advertisers. And considering Kutcher has no shortage of other options, this news combines to give him more leverage in negotiations.

While both show EPs Lorre and Aronsohn dodged questions of Kutcher's future with the show, CBS network president Nina Tassler addressed the issue.

"We've been very focused on next season and there have been early conversations," Tassler says. "The spirit of those have been everybody really likes their jobs and I've got nothing to report now, but as I've said there's early conversations that people like what they're doing and are very happy working together."

The question is, can the two sides come to a consensus for something that doesn't involve the punchline of "Two and a Half Million?"

The long hair and shaggy beard that was so startling in his early episodes of Two and a Half Men are gone. The face is clean. The hair is short.

“It’s related to the show completely,” Kutcher said. “Tune in Monday.”

That would be this Monday on CBS and CTV, where Kutcher’s sitcom, Two and a Half Men, airs. Kutcher, of course, replaced the controversial Charlie Sheen in the show, and the ratings have held up to this point.

Kutcher was just so serious while speaking with the media. We asked him why he’s so serious in real life when he specializes in playing characters who are partially, if not totally, clueless.

“I’m serious when I’m talking to the press, because I’m always on guard, because I never know what you’re going to ask, and I never know how you’re going to construe my answer,” Kutcher said.

“So I try to maintain a pretty even pace when I’m speaking with the media. So that might not necessarily reflect who I am usually.”

So this is the true acting that we’re seeing right now?

“This is a great performance,” said Kutcher, prompting laughter. “And it’s almost over, the curtain’s about to come.”

Kutcher is not signed to Two and a Half Men beyond this season, but every indication is that he’ll return.

“I think it has held up fantastic,” CBS president Nina Tassler said when asked about the performance of Two and a Half Men in the ratings. “Granted, where we launched, we premiered to extraordinary numbers. But we are pretty much where we were last season at this time.”

So what about the creative aspect?

“I’m thrilled - Chuck (Lorre, co-executive producer and the primary target of Sheen’s meltdown) has done an extraordinary job of introducing (Kutcher’s Walden Schmidt),” Tassler said.

“(Kutcher) not only was an actor who had a huge brand, but his character was very different from what that show had seen in the past. (Lorre) wanted to let the audience sort of transition from Charlie’s into Walden’s character and fall in love with him for who he is and let him ingratiate himself into a family.

“I mean, that’s difficult. This wasn’t Sandy Duncan on The Hogan Family.”

Ha, good one.

Sheen, who has a new show coming up on FX (CTV in Canada) called Anger Management, was at a TCA party earlier in the week. While Sheen still insists that what he did was “right,” he also said if he saw Lorre on the street today, he probably would give him a “hug.”

“I wish (Sheen) well, I really do,” Lorre said. “I’m glad he’s sober and happy and healthy.

“We’re very grateful to be here,” Lorre continued. “We’re thankful this guy (he pointed to Kutcher) came and left the lights on so we could make a TV show.”

Lorre admitted that when it became clear Sheen wasn’t coming back to Two and a Half Men, ending the show completely was a strong consideration.

“There was clearly interest at CBS to keep this thing going,” Lorre said. “In some ways it seemed like an impossible and kind of ridiculous thing to try to do.

“Then we thought, why not try? If you fail, no one will be physically harmed, and no one would be surprised. It (would have been) such a heartbreaking way to end.”

So Two and a Half Men fans already have accepted a new main character. Now they’ll have to accept a “new-look” new character.

But remarkably, the re-grooming of Two and a Half Men didn’t turn out to be a close shave at all.

Will Ashton Kutcher Stay on Two and a Half Men?

During the CBS presentation today at the Television Critics Association press tour, president Nina Tassler told reporters the tentative plan for the star of the comedy hit. Also weighing in on the issue? Kutcher himself! Plus, is The Good Wife staying put? And would the networks ever pull a Glee and bring in a musical series?

Network presidents are all about dancing around a tough question, so Tassler only offered that they are in preliminary talks about bringing back Kutcher.

"I think that clearly we've been very focused on next season and there have been early conversations," she told reporters. "The spirit of those have been everybody really likes their jobs and I've got nothing to report now, but as I've said there's early conversations that people like what they're doing and are very happy working together."

During the show's panel, Kutcher was asked if he'll be returning to the show for another season and while he didn't give a definitive answer, he hinted that it's a definite possibilty. "The deal that we structured for the show was kind of a test deal," he explained. "The show's outperforming the numbers from before I was here, so I think people are responding to it."

"For me, having a show that people like and people want more of, that'll dictate my decision," he continued. "I have a couple of features I think I'm going to do during the summer during the hiatus. Right now I am looking at it as a hiatus. I'm having a lot of fun with these guys and interested in coming back."

We almost didn't get a Ashton Kutcher-led Two and a Half men, because creator Chuck Lorre told reporters he "absolutely" considered ending the show after Charlie Sheen was fired. But bringing on Kutcher changed that. "At first [doing another season] seemed impossible and slightly ridiculous thing to do," he says. "[But] why not try? What's the harm in trying? If we fail, no one will be physically harmed. No one would be surprised. It seemed like such a heartbreaking way to end."

No, we're not talking about recent rumors that Ashton Kutcher spent the holidays in Italy with a possible new ladylove (allegedly bearing a more-than-passing resemblance to Demi Moore).

Just making a basketball reference after the Two and a Half Men star was spotted attending a Lakers game in L.A. on Tuesday night.

In fact, the soon-to-be ex-Mr. Moore appeared to be flying solo.

Sporting a hat in support of the home team, the actor clearly seemed to be enjoying his courtside seats as he watched the Lakers beat the Houston Rockets 108-99.

Meanwhile, despite his marriage to Moore crumbling at the end of last year, Ashton obviously has a positive attitude when it comes to the next 12 months.

On Monday, Kutcher tweeted, "Roman holiday with homies. @mazzant @LoreneScafaria Have an amazing new year!!!" He also referenced Matt Mazzant, an employee of Kutcher's Katalyst Films.

But this isn't the only time since his break from Moore that Kutcher has been seen with Scafaria.

The two were spotted together on Dec. 9 and 10 -- just weeks after Moore announced she was splitting from the "Two and a Half Men" star -- snowboarding and playing shuffleboard at the Yellowstone Club Ski Resort.

Last week, Kutcher was seen out in Berlin, chatting with a long-haired brunette at a party and later walking into an apartment building with her. The woman bears a resemblance to Scafaria, though that is of yet unconfirmed.

And one other person – Kutcher's business partner, Matt Mazzant.

The Two and Half Men star, 33, is making no secret of his time with Scafaria, whom online reports note bears a passing resemblance to Moore.

"Roman holiday with homies," writes Kutcher on Twitter along with a photo of him and Scafaria, showing Mazzant squeezed in between.

Scafaria wrote Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist and is the writer-director of the upcoming Steve Carell/Keira Knightly comedy Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.

Moore, meanwhile, spent Christmas Eve dancing at a poolside bar at the Parrot Cay resort in the Caribbean. The actress, 49, was vacationing with daughter Rumer Willis, according to the New York Post.

MTV Brings Back Punk'd

The show, which originally premiered in 2003, was co-created by Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg. Kutcher also served as host and producer.

A modern-day version of candid camera, celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Taye Diggs, and Halle Berry were all the victims of elaborate practical jokes during the show's eight season run. The series will return to the network in 2012, but viewers will get a sneak peek of the show during MTV's annual New Year's Eve party on Dec. 31 at 11/10c.

Goldberg and Kutcher will continue to produce the series. There's no word yet on whether or not Kutcher will still serve as host.

'New Year's Eve' is no party

But really, how good a time are we in for when a movie opens with New Year's host Ryan Seacrest promising we're going to see a lot more of him before it's over?

Bloated with cheap sentiment, New Year's Eve portrays Times Square on Dec. 31 as the center of the true-love universe (though there are never enough extras in a scene to ever convey the rib-crushing madness of the real thing). It also recycles the template of Marshall's 2010 film, Valentine's Day.

That is to say, he throws darts at the A-list to come up with a mess of improbable couples, and gives them each about half a sitcom's worth of plot (or about a day of shooting), with all the sketchy characterization that suggests. This need not be a recipe for a bad movie, but in Marshall's shticky hands, the result is more Love Boat than Love, Actually.

Among the unlikely hook-ups: Katherine Heigl as Laura, a caterer at a swank party, where the entertainment is a superstar rocker named Jensen (Jon Bon Jovi), who just happened to have skipped town after proposing to her the year before. There's also Ashton Kutcher as a cynical illustrator and Glee's Lea Michele as one of Jensen's singers, who get stuck in an elevator together.

Michelle Pfeiffer (really, has it come to this?) is a record company gofer who quits in a fit of middle-aged crisis and looks to a cocky young guy (Zac Efron) to make her bucket list come true in exchange for VIP party tickets. Abigail Breslin is a 15-year-old who skips out on Mom (Sarah Jessica Parker) to meet up with a boy for her first kiss at Times Square.

Hilary Swank is in charge of the Times Square ball, which malfunctions, requiring rescue by a Red Adair-type super electrician named Kaminski (Hector Elizondo).

But wait -- there's more. Hewing to the sitcom formula of two parts shtick and one part bathos, we have Russell Peters and Sofia Vergara answering Marshall's call to "do that thing you kids do" as a pair of Heigl's heavily accented comic-relief staffers, and Jessica Biel and Seth Meyers and Sarah Paulson and Til Schweiger as pregnant couples, vying for the hospital's $25,000 prize for first New Year baby (cue the scenes of shouting directly into a vagina).

And the bathos? Robert De Niro is a dying man at the hospital, nursed by Halle Berry, whose last wish is to see the ball drop at midnight (at which point his entire career will flash before his eyes, including Meet the Fockers).

It's all edited with a Cuisinart, such that when a character you last saw 20 minutes ago (the movie's an excruciating two hours) pops up again, you have to remind yourself who they are.

The length is a consequence of the movie's sheer busy-ness -- the last act alone is almost all thread-tying (including a surprise, gratuitous Support Our Troops message a la Valentine's Day).

To the eternal question, "Are we having fun yet?" That can only start when you leave the theatre.

'New Year's Eve' brings formula romance to the party

Where Valentine's Day was set in Los Angeles, New Year's Eve takes place in New York, but it has the same wafer-thin premise: A collection of people preparing for the holiday find love in the right or wrong places.

Love rekindled, fresh starts and redemption are the themes, but that makes the screenplay sound far more substantial than it is. Emotions are expressed with greeting card shallowness and by a panoply of stars, each with about a paragraph's worth of actual story.

There's the mousy middle-aged woman (an unattractively photographed Michelle Pfeiffer) who impulsively quits her boring desk job. She's hellbent on fulfilling resolutions amassed over the years — like traveling around the world and seeing Bali — all in a day. She engages the services of a bike messenger (Zac Efron) who cuts corners but offers more excitement than she apparently has ever known. (He takes her to a spa named Bali and the world travel is done by hopping around a giant map in a museum.) Charmed yet?

Other vignettes are just as lame-brained. A slacker/New Year's Eve hater (Ashton Kutcher) and his perky neighbor (Glee's Lea Michele) get stuck in an elevator. Initially they can't stand each other, then after she sings a song in the confined space, sparks ignite.

The stories are woven together in the clumsiest, most obvious fashion.

Sitting through New Year's Eve is like attending a crowded party filled with pretty people who have nothing to say.

Ashton and Demi's 'awkward' dinner run-in

"[Moore] approached [Kutcher's] table," says a witness who saw Moore notice that Kutcher had sat down at a table across the patio from her at a West Hollywood members' club. "He gave her a hug, and they spoke for a few minutes."

The witness tells Us Weekly that even though both Kutcher and Moore seemed "polite," the encounter was "very awkward."

And no wonder. On Nov. 17, Moore announced that she was ending her marriage to Kutcher in the wake of allegations that he had a hotel tryst with 22-year-old blonde Sara Leal on the night of his sixth wedding anniversary with Moore.

Moore said in a statement, "As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life."

After heading on a "soul searching" trip to Hawaii and being spotted out at the Tower Bar in Los Angeles with a mystery guy, Moore headed to Massachusetts this weekend for the funeral of longtime friend.

Meanwhile, Kutcher appeared extremely flirty with his "New Year's Eve" co-star Lea Michelle at the Los Angeles premiere of the film. Sources say that, over Thanksgiving, he also "loved the attention" he got while being "swarmed by girls" bar-hopping in Iowa.

While Moore had a male companion at her side during the former couple's dinner run-in, the witness said that "it didn't look romantic at all." It's unclear who Kutcher was dining with.

Pretty Little Liars, Charlie Sheen Top Twitter's Hot Topics in 2011

Both Sheen and the stuff he says runs through his veins made Twitter's list of hot topics for 2011. Sheen, who had a busy year after being fired from Two and a Half Men, is listed as the No. 1 most talked about actor, followed by Macaulay Culkin, Ryan Dunn and Ricky Gervais. His Two and a Half Men replacement, Ashton Kutcher, also made the top 10, landing at No. 8. (#tigerblood is listed as the second most talked about hashtag of the year.)

Two and a Half Men itself was the second most talked about TV topic behind No. 1 ranked Pretty Little Liars. Rounding out the top 5 for television are The Craigslist Killer, Golden Globe Awards and People's Choice Awards.

On the movie front, Thor came out on top, followed by The Dark Knight Rises (which will be released July 2012), X-Men: First Class, Fast Five and Green Hornet.

Elizabeth Taylor, who passed away in March, topped the most-discussed actresses list. Among the others in the top 10 were Black Swan castmates Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman, along with Harry Potter's Emma Watson and The Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev.

Despite gaining notoriety as one of the worst songs of the year, Rebecca Black and her tune "Friday" landed at the top of the music list, followed by the likes of Nate Dogg, Gerry Rafferty and Gil Scott-Heron.

Review: 'New Year's Eve' drops the ball

Many of the elements are the same as they were for "Valentine's Day," just moved back on the calendar a few weeks, with the script again weaving together a dozen or so plot lines that crisscross a holiday prone to sentimentalizing.

If there is some kind of world record for schmaltz, this may have set it. Included here are first kisses, midnight rendezvous, dying fathers, newborn babies, husbands at war and trapped strangers. It's narcotic mawkishness, with notes played on heartstrings like a 12-string guitar.

Though it's pure, rosy fantasy on screen, this is cynical, paint-by-the-numbers entertainment, sold with a gaggle of stars spread across its movie poster like a telethon lineup.

The threads of romance emanate from — where else? — New York's Times Square. Hilary Swank plays a character running the ball drop festivities, at which a famous rocker (Jon Bon Jovi as "Jensen") is to perform, and where various police keep watch, including one played by Chris "Ludacris" Bridges.

Some of the footage from these scenes came from last year's New Year's in Times Square shot by cinematographer Charles Minsky. This, surely, is the film's biggest accomplishment: The atmosphere is very true to the Times Square celebration.

Katherine Heigl plays a chef catering a pre-party featuring Jensen, who happens to be her ex-boyfriend. Her sous chef is Sofia Vergara of "Modern Family."

Abigail Breslin, now a teenager, is hoping to join her friends in Times Square, but her mother (Sarah Jessica Parker) won't let her. Jessica Biel, with husband Seth Meyers, is going into labor, competing for the new year's first baby against a rival couple (Sarah Paulson, Til Schweiger).

Michelle Pfeiffer plays a meek office assistant who quits her job (John Lithgow plays her record-label executive boss, a good bit of casting that should have spawned laughs) and hires a courier (an ultra-confident Zac Efron) to help her accomplish a list of resolutions.

Ashton Kutcher, as a bearded grouch, gets stuck in an elevator for hours with backup singer Lea Michele. (I crossed my fingers that bathroom needs would spoil their budding romance, but alas.) Most incredulous, perhaps, is the pairing of nurse Halle Berry and dying Vietnam veteran Robert De Niro.

En route to love and new beginnings, the many characters run around familiar New York tourist attractions and pair off predictably.

Editor Michael Tronick deserves credit for stitching all of these corny story lines together smoothly. None of the characters are more than cardboard cliches, but the cast is likable and pretty enough (there are some rom-com pros here, including Heigl and Josh Duhamel) that most are able to swallow the pallid dialogue without causing inadvertent laughs.

The cameos keep coming until the end, with even Mayor Michael Bloomberg dropping by. After all, this is as much an ad for New York as it is a movie. And I'm pretty sure I spotted Knick Amare Stoudemire as the credits rolled. Obviously, the NBA lockout was very hard on players.

And it's during these lighthearted extras and outtakes at the end of "New Year's Eve" where the first and only honest moment of the film occurs. Carla Gugino, who plays the OB/GYN delivering the expected babies, hints at the crassness of the enterprise. In a gag, she emerges from between Biel's legs with not a child, but "Valentine's Day" DVDs.

Congratulations. It's dreck.

All those celebs: A mile-long black carpet and a gigantic disco ball set the mood at the premiere of a movie that bursts at the seams with star power. Not that this was Marshall's first time at the holiday-flick rodeo. The Valentine's Day director (look for a funny nod to that movie in the end credits) said the toughest part of pulling off his celeb-stuffed sequel-of-sorts was the Rubik's cube-style scheduling. "Trying to see which actors could appear on which day," he said. "It was hard to get some of them together."

Toughest star to nab? That award goes to Jon Bon Jovi. "Jon Bon (who plays a rock star pining for Heigl), I couldn't get all together," said Marshall. "I sent him the script and no one could find him and I couldn't get an answer. Weeks went by, and when I get in trouble, I always call my sister Penny (Marshall)." That's one famous sister who can deliver: "An hour later she called back (saying), 'He didn't read the script, he wants to do it, I told him you'd be nice to him.' "

A quiet Kutcher: Kutcher, whose every move has been monitored since his November break-up with Demi Moore (News reports over the weekend screamed "He's taken his wedding band off!"), posed for photos with Michele but swiftly skipped the press line.

The Efron factor: With so many stars headlining the film, many (like Swank) were seeing it for the first time on Monday night. Breslin even met a few of her co-stars while doing press. "I met Zac Efron the other day at the press junket and, um, I cried. I'm not even kidding," she said.

Stars' own worst New Year's: "My very worst was probably when I was younger and I was always looking for a party to hit," said Swank. "You're in the car (going) 'Happy New Year!' "

… and their best: "Family, Champagne and New York," said Michele, who wore Valentino on the carpet. Swank prefers a good meal with family and friends around the kitchen table. "And bed before midnight. I live on the West Coast, so I watch the ball drop at 9 and then I go to bed." Breslin, 15, also keeps it simple. "I kind of just sit at home, watch movies, watch the ball drop and go to bed." But Elizondo, who plays an electrician brought in to save the infamous ball drop, had the hands-down best NYE tale. As a child, "my uncle, who was in the Second World War… knocks on the door," he remembered. "I hear the scream and it's (him). Coming from the army on a one-day leave. That was quite a holiday."

NYE's most unlikely couple: That's up for audiences to decide, but Efron steals the show in NYE playing a cocky bike messenger who fulfills the wish list of a timid secretary (Pfeiffer). Breaking the ice with the famous actress was easier this time for Efron. "When we were doing Hairspray, I was very young and very shy around her," Efron explained. On NYE, now a bit older, Efron sharpened his acting skills around the pro — to mixed results. "Any time I would try and improv or throw a challenge at her in any way she would come back and just school me," he laughed.

Pucker up: Breslin, who plays Sarah Jessica Parker's teenage daughter, received her first on-screen kiss in the film. "It wasn't a French!" said Austin, who plays her crush. "Especially in front of our parents, that would have been a little bit awkward." Wait, the parents watched? "Both of our moms," confirmed Breslin, who wore a gauzy white Marchesa dress. "And I think his cousin was there."

Director's cut: Marshall, whose memoir will debut in April, says he might be retiring from all that holiday-fueled movie magic. Does that mean there are no feel-good Thanksgiving, Christmas or July 4-pegged movies in his pipeline? "I don't want to do another holiday (movie). I used to get scripts on all subjects, now I get Mother's Day, Father's Day. I ought to do Arbor Day," he grinned. "It's a nice holiday."

Lea Michele & Ashton Kutcher Get Carpet Cozy at New Year's Eve Premiere-but Who Was Her Date?

She did!

Turns out, Marshall wasn't satisfied with the original ending of the movie, so he asked Michele to come back and belt out a film-ending tune just after the ball drops in Times Square.

"Gary was so sweet," Lea told me. "It wasn't in the script, 'Auld Lang Syne,' and he was like, 'I'm gonna let the Bronx girl bring it in. I'm gonna let her take us home.' I was like, awww! I was always a singer in the movie but I wasn't supposed to end the movie with the song."

Marshall explained, "She's from the Bronx, you know—my neighborhood. She came to me and said, 'I'm from the Bronx, you're from the Bronx. I should be in your movie.'"

Now for Michele's date—it wasn't the newly single Kutcher, but her gay best friend and sometimes Glee costar, hottie Jonathan Groff.

"On my way to the premiere!" Michele tweeted earlier in the night. "Have the most handsome date with me tonight Mr Jonathan Groff :)."

Groff kept a low profile throughout the night, going almost unnoticed. The besties took a few pics together, but he hung back on the carpet as Michele, a total knockout last night, wore a low-cut Valentino gown, Christian Louboutin shoes and Neil Lane jewelry.

She and Kutcher (who not surprisingly wasn't wearing his wedding ring) hit the carpet at about the same time and definitely showed off their chemistry by getting all comfy cozy for photographers. They hugged, touched and laughed...a lot. No surprise, but the Two And a Half Men star skipped doing interviews.

Michele didn't, of course, and later said she will be "forever grateful" to Marshall for giving her the chance to kiss Kutcher. "@aplusk it was such an honor working with you," she tweeted. "I cannot thank you enough."

Costars Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Harry Shum Jr., Cory Monteith, Mark Salling and Kevin McHale all came out to support their TV leading lady.

Representing from the film were Zac Efron, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sofia Vergara, E!'s own Ryan Seacrest, Josh Duhamel, Katherine Heigl, Hilary Swank, Abigail Breslin (in a fantastic Marchesa dress) and Jake T. Austin.

Despite the rumors circulating about why exactly the two are splitting (and rumors that Ash was less than faithful during their marriage), a source close to the couple tells us that Demi and Ashton have something else on their mind that...

The paycheck, of course.

"I don't hear this is about chicks," the source says. "We all know it's about the money."

Oh, and if you haven't heard, there's a lot of money to divide up.

Especially on Ashton's end, what with that multi-million dollar Two and a Half Men deal. Now it's just a matter of how much he's willing to dole out to his soon-to-be ex wife.

Remember, a source in-the-know about high-power divorces and that sort of legal mumbo jumbo told E! News that "if he were smart, I think he would want to do this quietly. He doesn't want everything that he has [allegedly] done to be disclosed in the media."

And not just stuff that's been hinted at in the rag mags, 'cause both of the two know tons of daring, Vicey secrets about each other that—so far—they've kept their lips sealed on.

Wonder how long that'll last? Here's hoping these two can work it out cordially. We all know how nasty some people can get when (big) money gets involved.

Ashton Kutcher's Two and a Half Men Crew Talks the Star's Flirtatious Ways

They say Ashton is in a "great mood" on the set of Two and a Half Men and has been flirting up a storm now that he's (soon-to-be) single.

Say it ain't so! Ashton has to be as misty eyed about his split from former wifey Demi Moore as we are, right?! Not so according to our sources close to the set...

"Sure he flirts, but he did that before," a Two and a Half Men coworker dishes about Ashton's on-set ‘tude. "Can you imagine what Charlie Sheen would have been doing in the same position? Whole lot more than flirting."

But we had higher hopes for Kutcher. Remember, the same crew told us way back when that he was better than "Hitler"-like Charlie, which is why we're so bummed that the Two and a Half Men curse struck the Kutcher-Moore home.

And maybe if A.K. had kept his flirty ways to a minimum when he was still happily married, things would have turned out differently. Or maybe not. That's just our humble opinion. But back to the divorce biz:

It seems Ashton's ‘tude hasn't changed at all since his very high-profile split was announced.

As another crewmember told us, "I haven't noticed him really being any different than before [the divorce was announced]."

"I actually feel for him," our original set source spills. "He's known his marriage is over for a while and he hasn't been dogging it or anything."

How très intriguing. Especially since the divorce is quite the high stakes one...but more on that later.

Ashton Kutcher 'Swarmed by Girls' in Iowa Bars

Just days after announcing his split from wife Demi Moore, 49, the Two and a Half Men star, 33, headed to his Midwest Iowa hometown for Thanksgiving. There he enjoyed nature as well as garnered attention at several local bars.

In between strolling through a cow-filled pasture from where he Tweeted a photo with the caption "Country Giving" on Tuesday, the actor hit up four watering holes.

"He was swarmed by girls," Emily Krajicek, 22, a waitress at The Sports Column bar, tells PEOPLE of Kutcher's Friday night visit. "He was swarmed by guys as well. You couldn't get to his table. People were asking what songs he wanted to hear. He was singing, having fun."

The good times went on earlier in the week as well, with Kutcher popping into Joe's Place, The Airliner and Bo James – three other local joints.

At Joe's Place, Kutcher had a lighthearted exchange with the woman working the door.

"She tried to ID him as a joke," the bar's manager Seth tells PEOPLE. "He didn't show her anything, but was able to get in. She was just messing with him. He talked to her for a little while. He was a good tipper."

Employees at the four bars said Kutcher was nice to people who approached him, but he refused to take any photos.

Overall, the step outside of Tinseltown was seemingly just what the soon-to-be-divorced actor needed.

"He was very happy to be home with family over Thanksgiving," a source close to Kutcher tells PEOPLE. "It was nice to get away."

Ashton goes country

In a photograph posted on his Twitter account last night, the actor is seen standing in a field with a cow in the distance.

There was no indication of his location, just a short message, simply saying: "Country Giving."

While Ashton looks pale, tired and scruffy, he does manage to raise a slight smile.

Two weeks ago heartbroken Demi announced she is divorcing the alleged love-rat.

Kutcher, Moore tweet their thanks ... separately

The estranged celebrity power-couple -- who announced their split after six years of marriage earlier this month, amid rumors of infidelity on Kutcher's part -- both reignited their social-media presence in recent days, to reflect on the Thanksgiving holiday.

Twitter super-user Kutcher, who has amassed 8.5 million Twitter followers and famously beat CNN to become the first user of the service to reach 1 million followers in 2009, fired up his account on Wednesday, after an unusually long dormant period, to share his thoughts of gratitude with the masses.

"I'm thankful for family, friends, you, & time to reach my potential. What are you thankful for? #thanksgiving," Kutcher wrote.

The 33-year-old "Two and a Half Men" actor, who's normally fairly active on Twitter, has remained absent from the service since tweeting that he will "forever cherish" the time that he spent with Moore. That missive was published on November 17 -- the same day that Moore announced the split.

Of course, Kutcher had become a bit tweet-shy even before then. A week prior, the actor announced that he was handing over his Twitter account to his production company, Katalyst Media, since coming out in support of fired Penn State coach Joe Paterno -- later acknowledging that he didn't know the facts when he tweeted.

Perhaps inspired by her soon-to-be-ex-husband's digital display of gratitude, Moore fired up her Twitter account on Friday to lament that the country reserves just one day of the year to express its collective appreciation.

"Why do we have only 1 day for giving thanks? Is that why so many people feel unappreciated?" Moore pondered. "Make this 1 of 365 days of Thanksgiving!"

Moore's previous tweet was also on November 17, in response to a question from other users about a photo of the actress out on the town.

Moore's split from Kutcher followed months of speculation that Kutcher had been unfaithful. The scuttlebutt came to a head in September, on the weekend of the couple's sixth wedding anniversary. Moore spent the weekend in New York, where she was promoting her Lifetime movie "Five." Kutcher, meanwhile, was spotted with his former "That '70s Show" co-star Danny Masterson at the Fluxx nightclub in San Diego -- where, according to local blonde Sara Leal, Kutcher enjoyed a sexual romp with her.

Where Chrissy and John savored their taste buds with a backup plan, Nina Dobrev skipped out on a Thanksgiving meal altogether. The Vampire Diaries star tweeted: "No turkey for me tonight- worst or best idea to get my wisdom teeth removed the day before thanksgiving?"

While Nicole Richie was sharing she "just caught my grandma digging for gold. Happy Thanksgiving!" her hubby Joel Madden was having serious regrets about stepping up to the plate and cooking. The rocker tweeted: "I'm making the turkey, the stuffing, the Mac and cheese, and the pies. This could be really bad. Sounded fun at the time."

While Eva feasted in Vegas, Kelly Osbourne and mom Sharon Osbourne spent the holiday in true rock star fashion—in a recording studio! According to Us Weekly, the May-December couple met at a house "affiliated with Kabbalah" where they have been going for counseling since 22-year-old blonde Sara Leal alleged that she had a raunchy tryst with Kutcher the same night as his sixth wedding anniversary with Moore. Moore and Kutcher arrived at the Kabbalah house separately, but walked out together, getting into separate cars.

"They seemed very somber," a source told the magazine.

After the session, Moore reportedly jetted to Hawaii for some "soul searching."

"She's determined to clear Ashton out of her life, but she has been crying and crying," a source told The Mirror. "Demi ... keeps repeating the mantra, 'I have to be strong.'"

Prior to Moore's announcement last week that "I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton," it appeared the couple was trying to work things out. In addition to Kabbalah sessions, Kutcher and Moore had gone on a camping trip with Kabbalah leader Yehuda Berg, who officiated their wedding in 2005.

Moore's daughters -- Rumer, 23, Scout, 20, and Tallulah, 17, Willis -- are reported to be distraught about the split. But they may also be the reason Moore decided to pull the trigger on the divorce. "They started treating her like a wounded puppy," a source told Us Weekly. "[That] helped her reevaluate the situation and see that it was destroying her."

Moore referenced her daughters, and Kutcher's alleged infidelities, in her statement to the press last week. "As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," she said.

"If anyone was uncomfortable with the age difference, it was Demi, not Ashton," says a Kutcher pal. "She drove him crazy after a while with questions and doubts."

If it was meant to win back Demi ... clearly it didn't work. We don't know if Demi accepted the vehicle or if Ashton was able to give it back to the car company.

Ashton Kutcher Pre-Split: What I Don't Like in a Woman

The Two and a Half Men star, 33, hasn't openly discussed the reasons behind his split from Demi Moore, but he has addressed what turns him away from a relationship.

"I could never be with a woman who felt like she needed to change me," the actor – who reportedly cheated on his wife of six years – tells Men's Health in its December issue.

But that doesn't mean he's opposed to compromise.

"I think it's about working on the relationship and making it better … when it's good," he says in the interview, which he gave before the split. "The goal is not to get into a relationship; the goal is to be in a relationship."

Not to mention keeping that relationship intact.

"I'm relatively scared of failure," he admits. "I just don't see it as something that's inevitable."

Ashton Kutcher & Demi Moore: What Now?

Although they announced their plans to divorce on Thursday, both actors have professional business to attend to.

Kutcher, 33, is currently flexing his comedic chops – among other things – on his debut season of Two and a Half Men, on which he replaced Charlie Sheen.

The same day news broke of the split, Kutcher was already on-set at the Warner Bros. studio lot in Burbank. Fans attending the taping on Friday tell PEOPLE he was "fine" and "very professional" in character as Walden, a recently divorced bachelor written into the script when Sheen left the hit series.

A group of fans who have attended tapings in the past described Ashton as "business as usual."

"It was a great show. He was his usual self," the fans tell PEOPLE. "He seemed in good spirits."

Adds a group of female fans: "He seemed totally normal."

Kutcher didn't mention anything about his personal life or seem tired and upset as he stayed after the taping to greet fans, take photos and sign autographs, as per usual. In fact, one attendee tells PEOPLE he didn't know about the divorce news and wouldn't have guessed it based on the actor's behavior at the taping.

Kutcher will also be making his return to the big screen Dec. 9 in the ensemble romantic-comedy New Year's Eve, a follow-up to last year's Valentine's Day. His last film No Strings Attached, which costarred Natalie Portman was received with mixed reviews.

"Full Force Ahead"

Moore, 49, just completed LOL, a star-studded comedy with Miley Cyrus and Ashley Greene set to arrive in theaters in 2012, according to the Internet Movie Database. Her upcoming drama Another Happy Day comes out Dec. 8, and last month, she stepped out without Kutcher for the premiere of the limited-released (and critically praised) Margin Call.

"She's moving full force ahead in terms of work," a source tells PEOPLE.

Moore also recently tried her hand behind the camera to direct a short film about breast cancer for Lifetime's Five anthology.

"As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred," Moore previously said in a statement about her decision to divorce Kutcher after six years of marriage. Of their split, Kutcher added, "Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."

Did an open marriage kill Demi and Ashton's union?

Star magazine reported that Kutcher and Moore's alleged open relationship made both of them happy for years.

"Everyone in Hollywood knows about their arrangement, but they’ve managed to keep it a secret from the general public," a source told the magazine. "Demi is attracted to women just as much as men ... She was cool with Ashton having flirtatious relationships too. Somehow they made it work all these years. Both of them were respectful of each other. It was a lot of fun for them."

But the magazine said things began to change when Ashton's conquests leaked into the press last year. First, 22-year-old brunette Brittney Jones claimed that she had a fling with the "Two and a Half Men" star after meeting him at a bowling alley. Jones claimed that Kutcher was with Moore at the alley, but slipped her a napkin with his phone number on it. She claimed that she had sex with Kutcher on the couple's couch while Moore was out of town. Jones also alleged that the May-December couple sometimes engaged in threesomes.

Jones still holds that she was telling the truth about her relationship with Kutcher. She spoke to TMZ today, saying, "Although divorce is sad, I do feel somewhat vindicated. For so long people have thought that I was dishonest or just making up my passionate nights with Ashton ... Ashton told me that both he and Demi had an 'open relationship' and that he was not in fact cheating ... Hopefully people will believe my side of the story."

Last month, 22-year-old blonde Sara Leal claimed that she had unprotected sex with Kutcher in a San Diego hotel after jumping into a hot tub with him naked. "He was good. We weren’t like making love, but it wasn’t weird or perverted," she said. The alleged tryst took place on Kutcher and Moore's sixth wedding anniversary.

After the Leal story broke, it appeared that Kutcher and Moore were trying to work things out. In mid-October, the two went on a camping trip at Cachuma Lake in Santa Barbara, Calif., with Kabbalah guru Yehuda Berg, presumably to reconnect and get some counseling. Moore even visited Kutcher on the set of "Two and a Half Men" a few weeks later.

But yesterday, Moore announced that she would be seeking a divorce after all. "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton," she said in a statement. "As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life."

Ashton followed up with a comment on Twitter. He said, "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."

Kutcher was spotted yesterday hours after the announcement on the set of "Two and a Half Men." The actor's facial hair appeared extremely scruffy and his demeanor forlorn.

"Margin Call" actress Moore, who has appeared extremely gaunt in recent months, is reported to be optimistic. "She said [she] was going to change for the better," a source told Us Weekly. "And that it was time for her to focus on herself again and her girls."

It's unclear whether she will change her Twitter handle from "@mrskutcher."

"Ashton is unhappy; [Demi]'s unhappy," a source tells PEOPLE. "It just got to a point where they had to end it."

We're not sure if there's a curse afoot with magazine coverfolk, but yet another impeccably ill-timed interview has surfaced, this time with the Two and a Half Men star taking the cover of Men's Health—and discussing love and relationships—in the wake of the combustion of his marriage to Demi Moore.

So what parting words of wisdom did he offer up?

"I think it's all about working on the relationship and making it better...when it's good," the coverboy told the mag's sister publication, Women's Health.

"Don't wait for a problem to work on things. The goal is not to get into a relationship; the goal is to be in a relationship."

And Ashton's personal goal? Not just to be a good partner, but apparently, an attentive one.

"I would just like a woman someday, somewhere, at some point in my life to say to me, 'You're a great listener,'" he said. "Haven't heard it yet, and that's a superior compliment to get from a woman. But I'm going to work on it."

Wonder if his listening abilities constituted one of those irreconcilable differences? Time (and the inevitable divorce papers) will tell.

And while Kutcher was very much with Moore at the time of the interview—albeit embroiled in the mother of all tabloid scandals—he nevertheless managed to sneak in some details about what he might be looking for (and what might have led to his marriage's petering out) when he's next ready to couple up.

When asked by the magazine to fill in the blank on the following sentence, "I could never be with a woman who..." he replied:

"Wow, that's tough. I could never be with a woman who felt like she needed to change me."

Who Is Worth More: Ashton Kutcher or Demi Moore?

Here's how an expert from Forbes breaks down the finances of the divorcing duo exclusively to E! News...

"As painful as this is to say, Ashton has great earning potential from here on out, and Demi Moore does not," says Dorothy Pomerantz, the magazine's L.A. bureau chief. "Because of Two and a Half Men, he is earning close to $700,000 an episode, and if his show goes into syndication he will earn more from that. Having a hit show gives you amazing earning potential."

Forbes estimates that Kutcher has made roughly $7 million so far this year from Two and a Half Men, plus another $2 million from his movies, another $1 million from his restaurants and another $1 million from residuals of That '70s Show reruns.

Pomerantz says Ashton's investments in tech companies haven't given him significant earnings yet, but have potential for big returns down the line.

The future may be looking bright financially for Ashton, but it could only be getting worse for Demi.

"Maybe we are going to see her build back up her portfolio, but it's hard for women at her age [Moore turned 49 a week ago], there's just no way around that," said Pomerantz. "That's a scarlet letter on your forehead. She's too pretty to play the older mom roles."

Per Forbes estimates, Moore still gets residuals from her movies, and her lucrative endorsement deal with Ann Taylor brings in an estimated $2 million-$3 million per year, putting her somewhere close to $5 million for the year.

Kutcher meanwhile has never made Forbes' Celebrity 100, but he has a good chance of making it next year.

"With the Celebrity 100 we look at earnings and fame," said Pomerantz. "The lowest earners on our list earn about $9 million a year, but they have to have a significant amount of fame too. We do the list in May, but Ashton wasn't on Two and a Half Men at that point, so that's $7 million that he didn't have."

A yearly income of $12 million-$13 million would put Kutcher on the Forbes Top 100 Celebrity list next to individuals like Tina Fey, who earned $13 million in 2010, and Kate Moss and Eva Longoria, who each earned $14 million.

CBS boss predicts long run for "Two and a Half Men"

So said CBS chief Les Moonves during a one-in-one interview event at the Beverly Hilton Thursday.

Interviewed by TV writer Brian Lowry, Moonves, said he sees no downturn in the current advertising economy and only sees good things ahead as CBS and its rivals get ready to feed on election-year advertising.

"We're not seeing what we were seeing three or four years ago when people were pulling back," he said.

Moonves also noted the $250 million CBS will receive in broadcast retransmission fees this year.

"Those fees will be going up, and they should have gone up a long time ago," he said.

Moonves was also asked about the turmoil surrounding hit sitcom "Two and a Half Men" and it's ex-star earlier this year.

"When you've been around as long as I have, you learn one thing: s--- happens," he said.

Moonves said the network is pleased with the new iteration of "Men" with Ashton Kutcher: "This show could last with the current numbers it has for many, many years."

As he was speaking, word was circulating of the dissolution of Kutcher's marriage with Demi Moore.

Last week, Kutcher condemned the firing of Penn State football coach Joe Paterno and then recanted the Twitter posting after it drew a flurry of criticism. The actor said he'd been unaware of the child sex-abuse scandal engulfing the university.

On Thursday, the 49-year-old Moore announced she was splitting from Kutcher, 33, the subject of rumors of alleged infidelity. The couple wed in 2005.

News of their split comes weeks after Us Weekly reported that Kutcher had a one-night stand with a 22-year-old named Sara Leal back in September — on the day of his and Moore's sixth wedding anniversary. Reports of trouble between the couple surfaced quickly (Star Magazine reported that the two had been living apart for months), but Kutcher took to Twitter a week after his alleged affair urging people not to assume anything.

The Two and a Half Men star then posted a video online last month saying "people can bastardize the truth," seemingly referencing rumors of their impending split. "There is no gatekeeper of the truth ... people can bastardize the truth in any way, shape or form that they want and spread that around the world," he said in the video. "All I can say is that [Moore] was around all the time and I like her," Greer said, adding, "Ashton is super fun and happy and people love him. He's great on set. He's great to everybody. He's kind of a breath of fresh air."

So far, the actress has not changed her MrsKutcher handle following her announcement she's divorcing the Two and a Half Men star.

Perhaps that's because this is a bigger emotional step than just making few key strokes.

Moore, 49, and Kutcher, 33, are among Hollywood's Twitterati, expressing – and defending – their love in 140 characters or less to their millions of followers.

Less than two years ago, in fact, all seemed well in their Twitter-verse.

Oct. 7, 2011: Ashton and Demi go to Yom Kippur services at the Kabbalah Centre in Los Angeles and then head off that weekend for camping on Cachuma Lake in California's Santa Ynez Valley.

Oct. 14, 2011: A moving truck is spotted near their home, prompting move-out speculation, but a source later confirmed that the photo agency that snapped a pic got it wrong when it said the truck was at their home.

Oct. 21, 2011: Ashton, not wearing a ring, slams the media in a video posted on Chime.In for not operating with a certain "level of honesty."

Nov. 12, 2011: Ashton whisks Demi away to Bruce Willis' vacation home on Turks and Caicos for a reconciliatory weekend—and to celebrate her 49th birthday. "It was very apparent they weren't getting along," a source tells E! News. "It was weird all weekend."

Nov. 17, 2011: Demi announces that she is divorcing Ashton after six years of marriage "with great sadness and a heavy heart." Ashton tweets: "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi."

Demi, meanwhile, needs a new Twitter handle.

A source tells E! News that the Sara Leal scandal truly was the final straw for Demi. "She found out about the whole thing when everyone else did and she was devastated," says the source. "He initially lied about the girl. She felt like she just couldn't trust him."

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher Split

"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton," says Moore in a statement. "As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life."

She adds: "This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."

The split follows reports that 22-year-old Sara Leal alleged a one-night stand with Kutcher on the day of his sixth wedding anniversary with Moore in September.

In the weeks since, Moore, 49, and Kutcher, 33, appeared to be working on their relationship, showing up together for Yom Kippur services and were spotted building a campfire at a lake near Santa Barbara, Calif., alongside their Kabbalah instructor.

The two stars weathered a previous cheating scandal one year earlier, when Brittney Jones, 22, claimed she had sex with Kutcher in July 2010. At the time, they took a trip to Israel for what the actor described as a spiritual journey.

Those who know the couple say the union had been under strain for some time, and spending more time apart.

"Demi loves Ashton as much as she hates public humiliation," a source close to the couple told PEOPLE when Leal's allegations first surfaced. "The marriage isn't good right now."
