The singer put the six-bedroom mansion on the market for $7.9 million back in September, 2008 but the property failed to attract any buyers. And now Spears has dropped the price - she relisted the home on Monday for $5.5 million - a loss of $2.4 million , according to TMZ.com. The home, which features three garages, a library, a spa and a media room, is where the Toxic hitmaker suffered a series of meltdowns in 2007 and 2008, most notably being removed from the house and transferred to a psychiatric hospital ward after refusing to hand her sons back to her ex-husband Kevin Federline. Britney Spears Back to the Circus of Single Life Britney Spears is once again a solo artist. The 28-year-old pop princess and her talent-agent boyfriend Jason Trawick called it quits at the end of February after about a year of dating, a source exclusively tells E! News. "They were fighting a lot and have not been getting along," the source says. William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, where Trawick plies his trade, confirmed Tuesday that the 38-year-old agent is still representing Spears. A rep for the blonde-again Circus star has not yet responded to a request for comment. Meanwhile, this isn't the first time the business-and-pleasure-mixing duo have required some time apart. Spears and Trawick cooled off over the holidays in December, but rekindled the flame in time to attend the Grammys together on Jan. 31, where Spears was nominated for Best Dance Recording for "Womanizer." They were last seen in public together on Valentine's Day at a McDonald's drive-thru in L.A. "They both just needed to take a break from each other," the source says. "It wasn't working out." Just as it wasn't the other time they split up within the last three months, but, as our insider says, reconciliation remains on the table. It seems Ke$ha doesn't appear to think too highly of pop predecessor Britney Spears and isn't afraid to gab about it. Spears rep denies album coming A representative for Britney Spears' record label has shot down reports the superstar is planning to release a new album in May. Online gossips speculated that the Toxic hitmaker was back in the studio recording her seventh album of original material, which she was planning on debuting in May this year. The star had reportedly roped in top producers including Darkchild, David Guetta, Cisco Adler and Sean Garrett for the material, and planned to send out a new single to radio stations as early as this month. But a spokesperson for Jive Records, Spears' label, has denied the rumours, saying, "There has been zero discussion about it." Spears released her sixth studio album, Circus, in 2008, and celebrated a decade in the spotlight with 2009's The Singles Collection. The veteran act leads Billboard's 2010 Money Makers list, earning more than $108 million in 2009. Bruce Springsteen is second with $57 million and Madonna follows with $47 million. AC/DC and Britney Spears round out the top 5 with $43 and $38 million, respectively. Billboard compiles the list from monies earned through tours, CD and digital sales, publishing royalties and more. Britney Spears Goes "Through the Lens" For New Candie's Ads To top the success of Britney Spears’ run as the face of juniors’ apparel line Candie’s Only at Kohl’s last year, the fashion brand has lined up not one, but three, of the best known photographers on the planet to shoot her newest campaign. The new series of ads, shot by Annie Leibovitz, Mark Seliger and Terry Richardson at Paramount Studios in Hollywood late last year, pay homage to the 28-year-old star’s versatility by showing her “through the lens” of the famous photographers. Through a release, Spears weighed in on the experience: “Annie, Mark and Terry are three of the biggest photographers in the world, I am honored to be working with them for my Candie’s Only at Kohl’s ads. It was an amazing shoot and I know my fans are going to love the cool images.” Each photographer brought out very different sides of the performer, with Leibovitz opting for an industrial backdrop, and Richardson working on a plain white set, while Seliger created two elaborate scenarios: one involving a custom-made pink Harley-Davidson motorcycle on lush green grass, and the other inspired by a French burlesque performer’s dressing room. But there’s one person he’s thanking only in private — and that’s pop star Britney Spears. Yes, he’s thanking the cute, oft-troubled blond — for leaving him alone! During a backstage conversation with actor Mel Gibson at the Golden Globe awards show at the Beverly Hilton Hotel a few weeks back, talked turned to the neighbourhood where they both live — a community called Serra Retreat, a private enclave of multi-million dollar mansions perched above the Pacific Ocean in Malibu. “I’m so thankful she finally left,” Cameron, 56, was heard telling Gibson and a crowd of others who nodded and rolled their eyes, knowing exactly what he meant. Cameron and other famous residents, including actors David Duchovny and Tea Leoni, had repeatedly complained to their home owner’s association (and the Malibu sheriff’s office) after Spears and then husband Kevin Federline moved to the ’hood — and right across from Cameron — in October 2004. Cameron, who quietly lived there since 1992, refused to be neighbourly; but Gibson (no stranger to his own problems) said he felt sorry when Spears became so unravelled that she shaved her head and entered rehab. Donation of Spears' dress OK for Haiti relief Britney Spears is lending a hand, or rather a dress, to help out Haiti. A court commissioner on Friday approved a request allowing the singer to donate the dress she wore to the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards so it can be auctioned, with the proceeds going to help Haitian earthquake victims. The court's permission was needed because the pop singer remains under a court-ordered conservatorship. Her father, Jamie, who will oversee the donation, controls his 28-year-old daughter's personal and financial affairs. The court also granted her father authority to get rid of some of Spears' property that was used during last year's "Circus" tour. The items are described as being "valueless" and occupying several storage containers. The 2008 MTV VMAs were the start of a public comeback by Spears, who retreated from the public eye after being placed in the conservatorship in February 2008. She won three awards at the show, including video of the year for "Piece of Me." No other changes to the conservatorship were announced during a brief open session after Spears left the courtroom. It was Spears' first meeting with Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz since the singer concluded a world tour promoting the "Circus" album last year. Before the hearing, she smiled as she walked in through the courtroom's backdoor and stood next to her father and an attorney. Spears did not speak before Goetz closed the courtroom to the public and reporters, stating that medical and sensitive personal information would be discussed. Spears' father and others have controlled the singer's personal and financial affairs for nearly two years. The conservatorship was created after a series of high-profile hospitalizations and incidents of erratic behavior by the "Womanizer" singer. Lawyers for the singer also sought court permission to auction off her 2008 MTV Video Music Awards dress to raise money for Haiti earthquake relief, as part of "property no longer useful for her estate." Spears "is very enthusiastic about the idea for a donation to Haiti," her court-appointed attorney Samuel Ingham told the judge, adding that the singer "is appreciative of the extra time and effort" showed by the court in her ongoing case. The judge approved the dress donation. The singer, 28, wore a gray jacket and black skirt with her hair dark brown and long with a few blonde streaks. She entered the courtroom at 1:45 p.m. from the judge's hallway door following her father, Jamie. Spears smiled at Ingham as she stood at the attorney table next to him. U2 tour tops annual rankings in North America U2 may have suffered disappointing sales for their new album, but the Irish rockers were easily the most popular draw on the North American concert circuit this year, according to data issued on Wednesday. The band sold $123 million worth of tickets to its stadium tour, while Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band came in second with $94.5 million, said trade publication Pollstar. Among all-time tours, the U2 trek ranks at No. 5, Pollstar said. The Rolling Stones hold the record with $162 million from their 2005 outing. U2's 2005 tour is No. 3 on the all-time list with $138.9 million. Pollstar editor Gary Bongiovanni said the overall concert business bucked the recession, mirroring a similar phenomenon at movie theaters. He said most people go to only one or two shows a year, and are willing to pay a premium for good seats. U2 hit the road to promote its latest album, "No Line on the Horizon," which failed to generate any hit singles and sold a relatively modest 1.06 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Pollstar said the band played to 1.3 million people at 20 shows on the North American leg of its world tour, and charged an average of $93.77. The average price on the band's 2003 tour, when it played 78 shows, was actually higher at $97. Piano men Elton John and Billy Joel's latest co-headlining stint came in at No. 3 in 2009 with $88 million, followed by rehabbed pop princess Britney Spears at No. 4 with $82.5 million, and hard-rockers AC/DC at No. 5 with $77.9 million. Country star Kenny Chesney made the top 10 for the sixth consecutive year, landing at No. 6 in 2009 with $71.1 million. But the fresh-faced Jonas Brothers made No. 7 after selling $69.8 million in tickets to their young fans.
