"I'm scared," Brandy admitted to me yesterday about their performance. "I'm just scared of everybody in that room. Britney Spears to regain control of finances for her wedding: report Britney Spears will not only be marrying fiance Jason Trawick on Valentine's Day, reports say, but also she will be getting an especially meaningful gift from father Jamie Spears -- control of her finances and business decisions. A source close to Spears tells the Sunday Express that Jamie Spears is looking to end his conservatorship over his daughter's affairs in time for her wedding, which reports say will be taking place on Feb. 14 on the Hawaiian island of Maui. "Jamie wants to go to court in early February so Britney will be a free woman in every sense when she marries," the source tells the paper. While Spears' rep refutes the reports on the wedding date and location, Spears' camp has not responded to claims that her conservatorship may soon end. Jamie was granted a court-ordered conservatorship over his daughter's life when, following her split with husband Kevin Federline, the pop star had a public meltdown that culminated in her shaving her head and attacking paparazzi photographers with an umbrella. The singer lost custody of her two children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, before her father swooped in to help the singer get back on track in 2008. According to reports, all major decisions in Spears' life must be approved by her father and brought before a judge. Over the summer, sources told Radar Online that the father-daughter pair wanted to keep the conservatorship in place. But sources say that has changed since Spears got engaged to former agent Trawick. "OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for," Spears tweeted on Dec. 16. Dubbed a "mega suite," the two-bedroom domicile overlooks the Paris Hotel's Eiffel Tower and the famed Bellagio fountains. Not to mention, features a stunning red Murano glass chandelier in the entry way as well as a full dining room, living room and jacuzzi tub. Spears, donning a short, nude Herve Leger dress, stepped out a few hours later and revealed her highly-anticipated Neil Lane sparkler during a congratulatory welcome on the hotel's mezzanine. Planet Hollywood Chairman Robert Earl presented Trawick with an oversized birthday cake in a quick ceremony. "She wanted it to be quick because her kids where upstairs and she wanted to put them to bed," a source told PEOPLE. Is Jamie Spears ready to give his little girl away again? It's hard to say. Because Britney Spears has been in a conservatorship since her almost career-ending meltdown in 2008, Jason Trawick is legally bound to ask her father—who holds the keys to the castle—for permission to marry Britney, family law expert Lisa Helfend Meyer tells E! News. And what if Jamie says (or said) no? Does Trawick whisk Britney away on the back of his motorcycle, like in the "Criminal" video? "If he doesn't consent, then her marriage would not be legal," Meyer said. "It's very restrictive. It's not like you are marrying an adult." Biologically, of course, Britney's a 30-year-old adult. But Jamie is the one who makes financial, medical and career decisions on her behalf. She has even been excused from giving depositions in various legal matters over the years because the judge overseeing her case has agreed with Britney's conservators (Jamie and attorney Andrew Wallet) that she's not competent to testify. But she's been competent to make millions on tour...right? Seemingly so. Spears has been free to petition to get her affairs back under her control for years now, Meyer said, adding that it's anyone's guess as to why the pop star has left things the way they are. And now, presuming Jamie has agreed, she's getting married! But so long as Britney's conservatorship remains, if there's a prenuptial agreement, Trawick will be entering into it with Jamie, Meyer says. And Britney could very well need her father's permission to rent a venue, purchase a wedding dress, pick out flowers, etc.—especially considering all of those things are likely to cost a pretty penny. Jamie would also have to cosign the purchase agreement if Britney buys (or helps buy) a new house, Meyer adds. And say, unfortunately, that Britney and Trawick get divorced—if she's still under the conservatorship, Jamie will have to sign off on any financial settlement they arrive at. A conservators' hearing is scheduled for Jan. 19, but at this point, only an allowance of fees and a motion to seal court records are on the agenda. Here's what we know about Britney Spears' bauble, as bequeathed to the newly engaged pop star by fiancé Jason Trawick (and speaking of rings, that certainly has a nice one to it)… E! News has confirmed that celeb favorite and jewelry designer extraordinaire Neil Lane designed Britney's engagement ring. According to Lane's rep, Trawick personally worked with the designer to craft the diamond-bearing band into Spears' "dream ring." Aww! This one is definitely a keeper! Though a photo of the ring has yet to surface, a source confirms to E! News that the diamond is round, comes in around four carats, and features micro pave diamonds around the band. "It's classic, simple and beautiful," they said. But the real deal, according to Spears' rep, is that news of her shooting down Trawick's proposal is "entirely not true." In Touch Weekly had reported that Trawick got down on one knee and offered up a massive engagement ring and everything, and that Spears panicked and backed away. That exact story hasn't made the "BS Alert" section of Spears' website yet, but it will look right at home along with another magazine article titled, "Pressured to Wed Against Her Will." The people who run Britney's estate are being sued by Advanced Security Concepts Corporation -- claiming Team Spears never paid them more than $140k in fees ... after they kicked the bodyguard company to the curb back in 2010. ASCC claims Team Spears has been unfairly holding a grudge against it ever since one of their former bodyguards, Fernando Flores, filed a lawsuit against Britney last year ... accusing her of multiple instances of genital-exposing sexual harassment. Britney has denied the allegations. But in the lawsuit, ASCC claims Team Spears demanded the company cover Britney's legal expenses in the case -- even though they weren't obligated to put up the cash. ASCC claims Britney's people not only fired them after the stand-off -- but they refused to fork over a check for $141,625.00 ... the remainder of a 1-year contract which Brit's camp had previously agreed to pay out whether or not they actually used the security service.
