Recorded at Running Frog Music (Windsor, UK), "I should have been doing the gardening" features some of Alison's favourite comic songs, parodies and guitar instrumentals. There is a special guest appearance by Oysterband's Alan Prosser. The album also includes two songs from the CD "Painted Rooms and Beyond" (still available) by Voiceover, an acoustic folk band from Alison's UK days. Voiceover are: Sue Graves, John Davies, Alison Humphries.
