The front panel of the cabinet is attached with magnetic latches and allows access to the power supply, disk drive and cdrom drive. Shown here the speakers mount to this panel and air is allowed to enter the cabinet through the plastic grill that is installed in the front panel. A small momentary contact push button is also mounted to the panel and used as the power button for the motherboard.

The cabinet was painted with varathane plastic paint for durability.  The edges of the MDF finish quite well so were painted and no T- moulding was used. Black semi gloss was applied to the front, top and back with med. blue used on the sides and dark blue on the edges.

A bezel was made from 1/8 in. hardboard and painted black.  It is velcroed in place and the bezel and monitor are covered with 3/16 in. lexan sheet which was cut with a special cutting tool much like a glass cutter.

The plastic around the monitor screen was also painted black so that it would match the bezel.

The marquee was printed on a Lexmark printer and has been trimmed to fit between 2 pieces of lexan.  A 16 inch single tube flourescent was installed as a backlight. Here is a link to the marquee that I used, I forget which site it originated from .  My thanks to the original artist. mmarque.gif (LARGE FILE)
