Halogenated Hydrocarbons Contamination:

Halogenated Hydrocarbons are used as refrigerants and solvents.  The combined amount of

  • Trichlorotrifluoroethane F113

  • Dichlorodifluoromethane F13,

  • Chlorodifluoromethane F22

  • Trichlorofluoromethane F11

 should not exceed 5ppm.

 

Any detectable Halogenated Hydrocarbons above 1 ppm are "abnormal" & require further investigation.

 

Other halogenated refrigerants and solvents are subject to 1/2 TLV or the odour threshold.
