Fractal Branches

This fractal image is a small part of a larger one. A photograph was taken of it from the monitor screen. The background was a plain blue so the branches were selected and copy/pasted onto a gradient.

A very clever image, the colours suggest spring. It is amazing what can be created from such simple components. The arrangement of the branches draws the eye in to the image.

Very nice leading lines, and great colors.  (If you are willing, would you provide me with a bit more information on how you did this?)

I have lived in the Vancouver and Victoria area of British Columbia all of my life and raised 5 children - all artists of various types. I have been a member of the New Westminster Photography Club since 1968, and a member of PSA since 1975. My specialties are close-ups of flowers and special effects in slides. I have always enjoyed manipulating slides with litho, Color-Key, and Diazochrome overlays, as well as other methods such as Multiple Exposures, Montages, and hand colouring and retouching. Needless to say, I now do all those things with digital imaging programs. My participation in photography has been mainly in local and international competitions, lectures, workshops and judging. I retired from the photographic industry in 1989, and now spend my spare time playing on the computers.

My photography equipment is mostly Minolta. (I worked for the Canadian West Coast Distributor.) I use two X700s and an XD11. I have not used any of my film cameras since I got by Olympus digital camera.

Presently I have two computers - one for graphics and one for general purposes:
