I've talked with many people, colleagues, friends, relatives, and neighbours about online shopping. Sooner or later the topic gets to the 'security' of information and the internet. Concerns? Some folks shrug it off. They've been shopping online for years. Others are admittedly nervous. I too was at first. But now after several successful transactions I figure my credit card information is as secure online as it is when I give it to the local pizza place, movie rental, grocery store, floral shop, etc. Simply put, I refuse to live in a world of paranoia. I guess people have to decide for themselves.

Five years ago my first purchase was a team cap in the $20.00 range. I recall how apprehensively I entered my Visa number in the required space on the checkout form. Nervously I pressed the 'enter' key. I imagined the possibilities of cyber-thieves ready to pounce and steal my house, my car, my bank account. Within minutes I received an email message from the outlet store acknowledging my purchase. I felt relieved. Within a week or so the cap arrived at my door. My next Visa statement showed the exact amount of the purchase. This really works. Now I could shop when I wanted and enjoy great variety of items and products, many not usually found at my local downtown mall. I imagined the great advantage online shopping must be to people who live great distances from large metropolitan areas.

Since then I've made many purchases at The Abby Mall and online in general. Some family members accuse me of being my own best customer. That may be true. What ever! It works for me.
