Click one below for a detailed view Downtown - El Centro
There is, of course, much more than these maps show. The streets downtown are lined with shops and restaurants, small and large, offering almost any service or commodity you might want or need. Downtown is essentialy only eight blocks square. Hard to get lost, once you get a feel for the layout. It's almost dead flat and easy to walk around. You can cross the footbridge at the east end of Playa Municipal and walk the cement pathway over to Playa La Madera. You cannot walk along the beach to Playa La Ropa., but you can get there from town along the paved road in about a half hour walk or by cab or bus. There is a steep hill to climb between town and Playa la Ropa. The hotels along Calle Eva Samano on Playa La Madera are also on top of a steep hill. The land across the footbridge on the west side of town also rises steeply. These maps were created by Jared Hooper Last revised January, 2008
