tonight with the first drop-in Open House,
Friday, February 13, 7 - 9 p.m. and continues tomorrow,
Saturday, February 14, 2009
9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Visioning Open House has the following creative activities:
Resources Nook - Reference resources on sustainability, seismic
safety, heritage, and school design.
PAC Survey - Fill out the PAC survey on school renewal.
Speaker's Corner - You're on camera! Get your thoughts, ideas and
questions on school renewal on the record.
Children's Corner - Activity table for young children.
Student Corner - Displays from student clubs and student discussion
groups.
Building Blocks - Use building blocks representing spatial components
of the existing and possible school to make your own renewed school.
Site Mapping - Participants can visually depict their ideas and
suggestions using markers on large aerial maps of Kits.
Drama - Interactive performance by drama students.
Video of Schools - Looped video presentation of example and exemplary
schools from around the world.

Closures and the 2010 Olympics

The VSB
will make a final decision on whether schools should close or remain open
during the 2010 Olympics on Monday, February 16.
70 teachers at Kits have signed a letter to VSB trustees asking that the
school calendar for 2009-2010 be adjusted to allow high schools to have a two
week spring break in February 2010 to coincide with the Olympics.
Parents can convey their opinions to our trustee liaison, Patti Bacchus,
Chair, at patti.bacchus@vsb.bc.ca.
