Provincial Political Debate on Public Education
Monday, April 20 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Kitsilano Secondary School Auditorium

Here is a great opportunity to see where the provincial parties stand on
education. There will be a debate Monday night at Kits Secondary on
Kindergarten to Grade 12 public education, featuring representatives of the
four major provincial parties:
BC Liberals, BC Conservatives, Green and BC NDP. The moderator is Erica
Johnson, host of CBC TV's Marketplace. The debate is sponsored by the
Coalition for Public Education.

ADHD in
Children and Adolescents: A New Theory of ADHD

Featuring Dr. Russell Barkley
ADHD is among the most common childhood and adolescent behaviroal
disorders. It constitutes the largest proportion of children and teens
referred to mental health programs. This workshop will provide detailed,
current information on the nature, diagnosis, and causes of ADHD in children
and adolescents. Dr. Barkley will also discuss advances in our scientific
knowledge of ADHD and the exciting implications for optimizing the effective
treatment of ADHD. He will also discuss specifically the school-based
treatments available for ADHD and other home behaviroal
management methods and medications often used for the disorder.
Dr. Russell Barkley is an internationally recognized authority on ADHD. Dr.
Barkley has specialized in ADHD for 30 years and has written 200 scientific
articles and book chapters.
