From your PAC Executive

Welcome to all parents/guardians of both Incoming Grade 8s and other students new to Kitsilano

Secondary School. We hope your child’s experience at Kits will be a happy and rewarding one.

On the first day of school all parents are welcome to join PAC for coffee, juices and muffins in a

room to be designated. (We are hoping it will be the Library but won’t know for sure until nearer

the start of school.) Signs will direct you to the area while your child is welcomed by the

Principal and staff. We hope you can join us.

In late September and early October (the week of September ? to October ?), there is an

annual event called Grade 8 Welcome Week. PAC supports this event by giving financial

assistance for the Grade 8 BBQ. All Grade 8s are encouraged to attend this fun event which

happens directly after school in the outdoor courtyard on Wednesday, October ?.

As a parent/guardian of a child at Kits, you are automatically a member of the PAC. We

encourage you to join us for our monthly meetings. This year’s schedule is:

We also encourage you to take part in the activities presented by PAC and to get involved in the

planning and implementation of these events. This is a great way to support our students, meet other

parents and find out about what is happening at school.

 

Kits PAC would like to help all parents have easy access to information from and about the school community.
Here are some of the communications tools available to parents:

Synrevoice is the Principal's electronic newsletter produced by the Kitsilano school administration. If you provide your email address to the school when you fill out the Emergency Contact form in the first week of school, you automatically will receive the Principal's newsletter every Monday.

PAC E-News is produced by Kits PAC to keep parents informed about parent and school community activities. It is typically sent on Fridays. To receive the Kits PAC e-news, please send an email to kitspac@hotmail.com with "PAC E-news" in the subject. Once you've signed up, you don't need to do it again the next school year.
