C.M.P. Cab 11 Field Gun Tractor
with 25 Pounder Field Gun
This is Tamiya’s Canadian military
pattern gun tractor with
a 25 pounder field gun and limber. This
is one of the oldest finished models displayed on my site, it was built in the
late 80’s, shortly after I started
building 1/35 armour
kits and is the first allied vehicle
that I ever built.
The biggest modifications done in this
build were to
the gun itself. Tamiya molded it to be
used in a firing
position, but I wanted to model it in
a towed
configuration. This meant adding
lifting hooks
to the pivot wheel, adding chains to
secure it and removing
the lift handles so they were pointed
in the right direction.
The tractor and limber were built
pretty much OOB with
the addition of medical tape for the
canvas roof cover.
This was the first artillery piece
that I built and I would
like to do another one of these some
time in the future.
