Flaunt it...if you've GOT it! [Peacocks/ Family Humor]
peacock_sampleLO.jpg
Details: ...Suitable for subjects of all ages and genders, and may also be useful for Makeover themes or formal occasions (prom, special events and gatherings). Additional titles which might be useful depending on content could include: "STRUT!", "Show off!", "Shake those tail feathers!" (Dancing photos/wedding content), "Are you Impressed?!", "Pretty Plumage", "Model Behavior" (runway-style fashion photos) etc.

2007 Year in Review [New Year/ Time Capsule]
newyear07_sampleLO.jpg
Details: This project complements New Year and birthday themes--party elements included may be useful creating cards, invitations or scrapbook pages. (Hats can be cut and placed over dog's heads, concealing the eyeballs... party favors replace champagne glasses, etc.)

2006 Year in Review [New Year/ Time Capsule]
newyear06_sampleLO.jpg
Details: Mainly intended to accommodate party or New Year themes. Alternative titles and some alternate subjects will suit the elements in this download: "Have a blast!", "Going out with a BANG!" for party themes. For alternate topics including potential parenting humor, this project could also accommodate any form of mischief that falls in the "Don't try this at home!" category. "Reach for the stars... if you fall short, you may require medical attention!" ..."Astronaut in Training!"..."Ride the Rocket" (for speed-related activities such as bicycling, amusement park rides, etc.)

Children can be more fun than a Barrel Full of Monkeys! [Family Humor]
monkey_sampleLO.jpg
Details: ...One of our most-loved layouts, these elements can be used to feature children in the playground, sports activities, bedroom disorder, mischief or parenting challenges. Many alternative titles could accompany these characters: Going Bananas, Climbing the Walls, Get me a Cage...Call the Zoo!...

SnowFLAKES [Holiday / Winter fun]
flakes_sampleLO.jpg
Details: Although I intended the pieces to accommodate snow-man building projects with children, these elements would also make wonderful humorous seasonal cards, tags and craft projects. Wouldn't YOU give your right arm to play with a friend?!

The Great Outdoors [Mosquitoes / Camping]
gr8outdoors_sampleLO.jpg
Details: The pieces are suitable for subjects of all ages and genders, and perfect for accommodating camping themes, outdoor adventures, hiking, fishing, hunting...the list is LONG. Many alternative titles will suit the elements in this download: The mosquitoes around here are THIS big! (A small nearby photo of someone holding their arms wide to indicate the exaggerated size of the insect menace would be particularly suitable. *grin*)

Stocking Traditions [Christmas]
stocking_sampleLO.jpg
Details: Suitable for subjects of all ages and genders, and perfect for accommodating Christmas photos OR journaling which acknowledges specific family traditions celebrated during the holiday. (It wouldn't be Christmas without finding a mandarin orange in the toe of the stocking here. *grin*)

BAH! Humbug! [Scrooge / Christmas]
humbug_sampleLO.jpg
Details: This collection of elements could be used to create humorous cards, gift tags or scrapbook pages which capture the occasional "humbug" during the holidays: the tangled lights, the diet (...darn that egg nog and those rum balls! *hic!*)...the snowplow that blocked the driveway, etc. The intent isn't necessarily to indulge grumbling so much as to poke fun at the inescapable truth: there's more to manage during the holidays!

Dear Santa...I've been (Mostly) Good! [Christmas]
dearsanta_sampleLO.jpg
Details: Pieces can be used separately on cards or scrapbook pages, used as templates or whatever desired. The pieces may be suitable for subjects of all ages and genders, but specifically suited for cards, holiday wishlists and photos of children sitting with Santa. Many other titles could be combined with the characters to create alternative pages: Naughty or Nice? "I've been Good"...Ho Ho Ho, A Conversation with Santa, etc... The impression that Santa is taking care of correspondence might also contribute to printed Christmas cards--just add a bit of glitter or flocking to his hat and cuffs, etc.

Santa's Grounded Reindeer [Christmas]
reineer_sampleLO.jpg
Details: We're all familiar with the story of Santa's sleigh being pulled through the sky by a team of reindeer... According to the original poem, the eight reindeer were named: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen. (The most famous reindeer of all wasn't part of the original team of eight.) Since these reindeer were left behind in Santa's employment line, last year's contest generated a list of suggestions for naming them! (This list of suggestions generated by the community can be downloaded here: Reindeer names. The collection is intended to assist with "speed scrapping" in the respect that it will compliment a huge variety of holiday photos regardless of age or gender, and could be used to complete multiple pages based on a potentially humorous and continuous theme. There are a HUGE number of ways to utilize the pieces, either incorporating the traditional reindeer names in addition to the "rejected" candidates or by including the pieces in a number of smaller projects. Simply by mounting pictures on bright red cardstock and adding a white (imitation snow!) base to each page, this collection could be used to complete an entire album with relatively little effort.

Alphabet Kids [School, Academic themes, ADD/ADHD, etc]
adhd_sampleLO.jpg
Details: Although it may play a significant role in day-to-day activities, acknowledging a learning disability can be a sensitive subject. This layout can be used to address the challenge light-heartedly, or used to accommodate academic themes for children. This layout is versatile in the respect that the letter blocks included can be rearranged to represent different words or letter combinations. There are a variety of additional colored blocks included, and it will be up to the user to decide how they'd like to arrange these. (Some coordinating example phrases are shown in the fullsize scans. For example, the "S" that has been added to the title in one scan can be used by parents with more than one child, or contributed to another acronym to spell ASD.)

Love Bugs
loveabug_sampleLO.jpg
Details: Alternative suggestions could include pages for a variety of themes incorporating all ages and genders, depending on content. This layout could be used to accommodate Halloween photos (bugs!)...pictures of children hugging family or stuffed companions, babies or even adults (--perhaps in a romantic sense or to indicate affection for a particular model of vehicle).

Spooky Ghosts [Halloween, Costumes etc]
boo_sampleLO.jpg
Details: Alternative suggestions could include pages for Halloween photos OR pictures of children lurking under linen! Many titles might suit this collection--"Who goes there?"--"Very Scary"..."Scary, Scarier...SCARIEST!", Happy Halloween, etc. Personalizing the headstones with humor or journaling will complete this set: M.T. Tomb...RIP..."I told you I was sick!", etc.

Highland Thistle [Scottish Dance, Holidays, etc]
thistle_sampleLO.jpg
Details: Alternative suggestions could include pages for Scottish Dance, holidays/vacations, geneological subjects which acknowledge background or history, family tartans, Gaelic themes or Scottish humor. (My father came from Scotland MANY years ago, and never lost his accent. His ability to tell a joke or a story was always colored by the brogue that made it impossible for anyone else to successfully retell the same story with the same result. *grin*)

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder [Dogs]
ocdogs_sampleLO.jpg
Details: Alternative suggestions could accommodate photos of people OR animals...depending on content. Used figuratively, there's a neat-freak in all of us (although most of us do not willingly wallow in the laundry basket!)...a worrier...or on the bright side, an overly-enthusiastic inner child! Used literally...well, you get the idea. Throw the ball! Throw the ball! Throw the ball already! C'mon!! Throw the ball! (Is that food?) Throw the ball!

Rise and Shine [Dinosaurs]
risenshine_sampleLO.jpg
Details: Alternative suggestions could acommodate pages featuring sleepy subjects, regardless of age or gender. Rising early for work or school is accompanied by particular rituals in our household. Although most of us could probably acknowledge a universal reluctance to let go of the pillow to slap the alarm, any familiar routines that are unique to YOUR family can be contributed to this layout to create something fun and memorable. If you can operate a camera before coffee or tolerate a flash early enough to acquire pictures, this will be PERFECT for new back-to-school schedules and working parents!

Happy Birthday [Clowns]
clown_sampleLO.jpg
Details: Although this layout was intended to acommodate Birthday pages, the elements could also be used to complement content-specific circus photos, birthday cards, miscellaneous celebrations, and party invitations or events.

Licensed to Drive! [Bunnies]
license_sampleLO.jpg
Details: Although this layout was intended to acommodate pages featuring a newly licensed driver, the pieces could also be used to address driving instruction, existing drivers, speeding tickets, car lovers, fender benders, racing, or the new set of wheels sitting in the driveway! The tiny detailed Vanity plates which appeared on the original pieces are NOT included with this download, but can be created/ personalized online to display specific letter combinations and geographic destinations/states. Acme License Maker (Link opens in a new window). If you save your generated license plate files and resize them to 40 PERCENT of the original saved files, the proportion will fit the printable project files. :)

The downloaded pages are meant to be printed UNRESIZED on 8.5x11" sheets with the unprinted gutter trimmed off. What can you do with prints...?
  • Scrapbook page elements, templates, greeting cards, craft projects, gifts, etc.
  • Before cutting each piece out, if you prefer a sharply defined edge, consider using an acid free black marker to outline the pieces.
  • For more dimension after cutting elements out, foam or glue dots may provide a little "lift" where desired. Printing particular pieces twice to "layer" elements with a pop-dot or foam tape also contributes to a more dimensional appearance.
  • OR...prior to cutting, (if you're confident that your scissors are sharp enough and your hand will survive the effort..!) consider using an adhesive to glue the entire sheet to the back of a cardboard or chipboard sheet. (A cereal box might even do the trick!) A small black ink cube or STAZ-ON ink applied around the outside edge will finish off the "raw" edge nicely and add dimension.
  • If you decide to print the title on a transparency, consider filling the lettering on the reverse side of the printed sheet so that the letters are opaque! I used a white opaque paint marker to do this, and was REALLY suprised by the result! It worked well and was a relatively simple way to achieve the look of a title on transparency without having background elements show through the printed piece.
  • If you have never used crystal lacquer or diamond glaze before...it's also GREAT for "sealing" a printed image and adding dimension. Apply LIGHTLY to a printed sheet with a wide soft bristled brush. NOTE: this technique can also improve the appearance of printed elements so that the colors appear more similar to the original pieces! (If you print on Photo Paper, this is NOT recommended.)
  • A bit of glitter or a metallic pen applied to specific areas can contribute to the appearance. Using colored lacquer, dimensional media, ink or embossing powder to add raised areas will also make elements more appealing!
Downloadable / printable elements include an instruction text file and a sample layout (as shown above) for reference. Each character / element has been reproduced at full size. Additional elements which appear in the ORIGINAL listed collection but DO NOT appear here are not included. Characters and content included here are products of my own imagination.
