Current news:
Maxim Winther and
Philip Edgcumbe have been accepted by the Sanofi-ABC
Challenge to continue research on anti-oxidants and the bleaching effect of
fluorescent dyes in tadpole neuronal cell development for April 2006.
Grade
12 Biology classes have had a very successful and fun experience creating their
own experiments in "the art of experimental design" at the Vancouver
Aquarium, while using some of our local animals as stars of the experiments.
Grade 11 Biology classes have had a wild and wet time at the "Wet Lab" at the Vancouver Aquarium while reviewing all of their invertebrate phyla for an excellent review for their upcoming midterms.
Grade 9
Science classes took part in the Planetarium field trips recently took
investigate the astronomy of heavenly bodies.
Materials have been ordered for the Dissection Club
but have not come in yet.
5. Announcements :
· Direct ask update : Executive will meet on Jan 30 and will revisit our proposed expenditures. Interested people let me know and they are welcome to come to the Exec meeting. Liz will answer any questions after we have finished with the rest of the items on the agenda
· Cabaret night (probably Apr 25) Some students from the Talent Show, school band and others will perform for us. Anyone who wants to get involved please see us or KitsPAC@hotmail.com

On Thursday February 2nd
there will be a secondary PAC prep meeting where the topics of discussion will
focus on student portfolios, aboriginal and ESL issues, Pride Committee and
increasing parent involvement.
Meeting will be held 7:00
-9:00 pm Room 120 ground floor VSB.From the DPAC
executive minutes it was noted that several resolutions regarding BCCPAC have
been submitted. Anyone interested can find the minutes
on the VSB web site.
