Bagpipes can be found in various forms throughout Europe and parts of Asia. The musical instrument most people think of when ‘bagpipes’ are mentioned is the Great Highland Bagpipe.

While all forms of bagpipes are capable of making beautiful and intricate music, the highland pipes have a unique, unearthly, beautiful sound that is at once powerful and exhilarating. Bagpipes are definitely not background music!

Bagpipes and ceremony

Bagpipes have long been associated with ceremony. I have performed at everything from anniversary parties to graduation ceremonies, from gala openings to presentations to dignitaries visiting Vancouver. The bagpipes add a sense of occasion to any event.
