| It is with much sadness I
report that John passed away April 16, 2001. His work is worthy of a much
wider audience. Our thoughts are with you, John, as yours are with us.
John submitted this fine work and brief bio a
few months before his death:
John Crook, 55 this year (2000), has
worked in Education most of his life, but has pursued a parallel hobby of
photography during all that time. Early in his career he taught haiku, but
it is only recently whilst recovering from illness that he has started to
submit his work for publication. He believes there is a strong parallel
between his 'photographic eye' and his 'haiku mind', and is struck by the
number of photographers who are also haijin.
