addition to other works— have been
gathered for publication.

The
primary focus of PhotoHaiku Arts is on the intuitive relationship between
photographic images and haiku poetry. A secondary focus is on the inner
activity of an outward stillness, our calmness communing with that in
nature, or as Basho so perfectly put it "the
mutual transference of subjective selves." For example, my subjective self
and that of a rose moving in diffuse light willingly exchange inner selves
thus enriching the experience of both. |

In the subtle spiritual
relationship between man and nature, a sometimes sudden illumination breaks
forth. What is this illumination? When are they real illuminations? How can
you tell? What does it feel like? Only the individual knows. Why does it
happen sometimes out of the blue? A small effect on one person is a transcendent
lift for another. And, departing from your Self to your subject of focus: How much of
your mind can you give without losing it? Such questions form, in part, the
basis of my current work. The other questions I'm still trying to formulate
so that the answers will be meaningful and, if I'm lucky, insightful. |
