The Following Sites are Closed or in Jeopardy at the present time.

The 747 Training hill is at the west end of the "747" LZ at Deadman Creek. The LZ is so named because you could land a Jumbo Jet here.

Basil's Bump.  Access road has been destroyed by landowner... 2007-9
         - Question? Is launch still accessible via the "Back Road" going up from the natural gas line road 2 km up the Back Rd.?
Is this marvelous old flying site still used? If so, I will reload the site info saved on a file for such items saved on the KVR website. Tnx  ftlwilson@shaw.ca

Buse Hill: A north facing cliff launch with a flat short run. CLOSED - as is the LZ: CLOSED.

La Farge, north of the La Farge Cement plant is not longer used although negotiations with the land owner could be started again at any time.

       Little Dome

Little Dome, and all the Kamloops Indian Band sites used by the KVR are private and are NOT OPEN to flying by everyone.
There is a gate across the road and a lock on the road for a reason.
If there are other sites that you may have heard of, and they are NOT on the list above, THERE IS A REASON.
We (KVR) have a private arrangement for use of their private lands.
All the launches and Lz are on their lands. Insurance and a Band Waiver are MANDATORY.

One of our group can take people out, get a waiver signed and explain the rules.
There are many issues and we do not want to lose our flying sites. So no public information is provided re finding launch.

Pemberton Hills has not been flown for many years. Great site though! Access is across the Thomson River from Pritchard.
Take the left fork and then the right fork to Pinantan Lake. The LZ is half way to the turn off to launch.
The launch road forks to the north about 2/3 of the way to the lake then snakes up the sloping back of the cliff.
It's very difficult to see where the road goes as you get up to the top. Launch is very small with room for only two or three gliders to set up.
An east facing cliff launch with a short run makes for a great morning site.

The Punch Bowl on the south side of Hwy 1 west of Savona was CLOSED by the landowner.

Raleigh's west and east launches have been CLOSED due to landowners concerns and the fact they have been overgrown.

Spear Grass and the Mt known as Paul and Mary east of Kamloops are CLOSED - for many reasons.
    1. It and the ridge heading east of it are in the direct path for aircraft on final to Kamloops airport.
    2. It's owned by the same Indian Band and its CLOSED
