    ***** To the author, YOU ARE A GOD! just what I have been looking for, I am now able to listen to all of the net stations through my home Hi Fi via my ipaq. Only one thing wrong, this rating scheme does not allow me to award 10 stars which is what you deserve, many thanks, Keith.
    ***** Ditto. Looked at lots of players. Wanted ability to rewind and pick up where I left off when I turn unit back on. This is the only one I found that does it well. Button control is awesome too.
    ***** Great software, now I can listen to all the net stations that use shoutcast.
    ***** Great piece of software. Works well playing slimserver streams. The only piece I would like to see is it support password protected sites. Even if it required the http://user:password@servername/ format.
    ***** This is the only player I have found to play streaming mp3's (like shoutcast and live365). Plays all bitrates including 128k 44kHz, over my home wireless network. Sound is great, features are great. Beats the crap out of the windows media player streams. Dreamy thanks to the author.
    ***** To the gent who authored this fine player... HAVE MY BABY! (and I'm a married guy ;-/ ) J/K! Seriously though, thanks and just what I've been after. I started some time ago on a grail to get streaming mp3 audio on a pocket device in the coverage of my wlan. First was a Palm T|T3 with pocket tunes and a makeshift bluetooth AP. That damn this would do nothing more than buffer continously, even on 24k streams. Don't even think about a GPRS connection. And then there was that Sansdisk WiFi card debacle. That Palm met an early demise not long ago. Figured I'd try PPC/Wince again - been a few years. My iPaq came with some goofey client/server thing - I just wanted to get .pls streams and so on. You helped me complete my quest. Also, not just the streaming audio feature but the interface and entire feature set is very well thought out IMHO. All I could ask for is an adjustable timeout for slow net connections. If I'm using BT - GPRS in a flakey area the player gives up too quickly even though I may have a strong but slow connection at the equivalent of probably a 9.6K dial-up connection. It'll work ok if you crank up the buffering - especialy useful when driving. Think using XMMS or Winamp on a laptop and with the buffers cranked up. I can typically pull a 56K stream all day driving around the LA area with little to no dropping . Just that initial start-up is a bitch ;-) I'll be really stoked if I can replace having a lappy in the car with my PPC for streaming tunes. I'll take a look at your source and see if I can contribute.

    ***** Great, simple player. Have been using it for a while and I am quiet happy. Loads of features that I still don't know how to use. It can switch off the screen to preserve battery, which I think is superb.

    ***** Execelent player. Was looking for an audio player that supports Ogg Vorbis playback, and this offers that, as well as many other features. Out does WM9.
    ***** I can't believe what I'm Hearing, I couldn't get the Windows media player to play continious songs off my SD card? I had no idea that a free Player could deliver so much more than I had ever expected. A Surround mode, Echo.... and what I was actually trying to get was continual play of all my tunes on my SD card, which I just bought in Montreal while I was Vacationing, I figured I got burned, then I went to my all time helper (Google) and there you were GS Player!!! All I can say is WOW!!! Brian.
    ***** Simply THE BEST audio player for Pocket PC. I use WM2003 and listens to New Age and Classical music frequently. The sound quality is superb, the best compare to other PPC's audio players i ever tried. The sound is vibrant, dynamic and noise is minimal. WMP9 and Pocket Music are clearly no winner here. Heck, it even beats off my previous Clie. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the author of this program to make such a high quality sound program, gives us regular updates, and still manage to make it FREE!
    ***** This is the greatest player for PPC. It supports wav, mp3, ogg, shoutcast. However, it has problem on wm2003SE, on cancel button, the text is gone... and there's a small deal, on the option it should be "Show Peak Meter" not "Draw Peek Meter"
    ***** EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!!! No registation procces like many other PPC products. Great playback, easy interface, very compatible. A must have for shoutcast listeners. You don't see great freeware products like this often enough.

    ***** I use it playing music live at gigs in a band with backing tracks. I've download all the alternatives even the ones costing money and this is the most stable and responsive player for live use. You should be charging a nominal amount for it. The improovements that would help its use as a live player are: Can the PLAY command be mapped to a button other than the 'action' push of the down/up/left/right of the IPAQ scroller? I know you can map the PLAY/STOP or PLAY/PAUSE command but, say, if you scroll through the playlist and highlight a track down the list (while the current track is playing) and you then want to play the highlighted track as opposed to the next track, you have to use the very dodgy 'action' button on the IPAQ. It would be much better to be able to use one of the other buttons which are a lot more definite than the action button. Maybe I've missed it and you can do it anyway or you might be able to include it in the next revision??
    ***** Just add WMA (Windows Media) playback support and it will be perfect!
    ***** Really a great piece of software, just set up an icecast2 server to listen to music via wlan at home using gsplayer. Lots better than stupid, buggy media player...
    ***** This is the most frequently used app on my PPC, and I've been a user since 0.81 - it keeps getting better and better each time. I would like to see more advanced skinning support and resizeable button bar, so I can use my fingers instead.

    ***** Fantastic. Very much like pocket player except completely free and full featured in every way. I use it mainly to stream shoutcast stations to my PPC over wifi and it works wonderfully.     ***** Whow! This is THE mp3-player you need! Plays streaming mp3s and local audio files. Key mapping is perfect, finding audiofiles is flawless and very easy and the interface is simple and perfect. The playlist is shown in the main screen. Plays shoutcast playlists directly from www.shoutcast.com. Really, this is awesome! Windows Media player? yeah right.... pity I can't uninstall it :)

    **** Very nice software, allow me to listen internet radio over my wireless home network. Three more feature needed to be really useful for internet streaming: 1. To allow to "Paste" a URL into Open URL (not to type it all the time). 2. Remember played URL in Open URL combo (now seems to remember only last one). 3. A favorite URL menu (to save URL to play from). Beside this, this is a really good player.
    **** Good piece of software! But pre-buffer options seems don't work properly. Since I use it with my CFII 2.2Gb it needs an option to load entirely a song (I think prebuffer make this!), so my microdrive will stop once loaded! Take care please!!! ;-)
    **** Searched long and hard for a player went to pocketmusic (pocketmind), even tried mort player. But none of those compared to this, the features everything. Only down part is that you cant add multple files. But who cares its FREE!!!! Top quality player for free.
    **** I'm impressed with the software. The effects are a fantastic touch and the player sounds excellent. My only problem is that the silly thing won't let me paste a URL into it and it seems to have a problem streaming off my wifi.

    ***** Pocket Islam is definitely the best progam I own. A PDA without Pocket Islam is just a PDA, but now I can't believe how I survived with out it. From calling me to prayers as if I were living back at home, to telling me when to fast and eat in Ramadan, to allowing me to read along while listening to my favorite recitals of the Quran, Pocket Islam is now an integral part of my life. To the person who developed this superb program, Jazak Allah kol kheir. I completed up to al Kahf in Makkah during Haj using your Qurran and I hope you get your share from the jazza. I made some suggestions in CE4arabs and most of them are in the last version. I still hope we can have the arabic interface specially the date and prayer times in the today screen, and the ability from settings to add a new city or location.Also if you can relate the Qiplah to the moon !!     *** Great program with one BIG problem: There are many "tashkil" mistakes in the arabic Quran part!! I found about 5 in the first half of surat yusuf alone!! This should never be accepted and the whole thing must undergo a comprehensive revision. The other feature of the program are very well-done. I gratly appreciate the effort and hope to see a solid edition in the future...

    ***** Extremely useful, highly recommend it. Works very well with even 32x32 icons for easy access to applications/system settings.
    ***** This was exactly what I've been looking for. Just 6 plain BIG icons on the today screen I can start with my fingers, when in my car, or when I'm too lazy to take out the pen. GREAT !!!

    ***** Who to transform a great soft (TdLaunch) onto an EXELLENTISSMO soft! This soft is one of my more usefull one! I use it every day! It's simple to use and convenient, even for shortcut of files! Don't find anymore: This soft is for you!

    ***** It's the best launcher for PPC. The interface looks like Palm. Now I can move the others.
    ***** Not much to say. Just a great, simple, well-written program. I never use my start bar. It even links to applications on a CF or SD card. Wonderful. Perfect application.

    ***** Excellent application! I did have the problem of not being able to remove icons/apps from cLaunch using the cLaunch Settings menu. To remove icons/apps: On your PPC, tap "START", then "SETTINGS", select "Today", tap the "Items" tab, highlight "cLaunch", select "options" from the menu on the right, select the icon/app to delete from the cLaunch menu, tap "Delete" and the icon really will be removed from the cLaunch menu!
    ***** Absolutely superb. This takes my favourite launcher a quantum leap further. If you like the tabbed interface of "Palm" launchers then this the the one for you!

    ***** I was a Palm user for several years and just start to use PPC recently. cLaunch is great for me! I sugguest to have an option to change to "List" view, it is good to view the list of eBook because all items in eBook catagory are shown as the same icon. Anyway, thanks for the author.
    ***** I normally don't write reviews unless a piece of software really stands out and this sure is one of them. I just downloaded v9 from the home site and let me tell you I am very impressed. A great tool for my IPAQ and unbelievably, it's free. I concur with Nicholas NG that shortcuts can be a little fiddly to delete but the program more than compensates. Highly recommended!!
    ***** 8.0 have a great improvement on "Icon name enable", it will be much better if it can select to enable the "icon name" in difference Group. Because many users can recognize the "Main" group icon so that don't need the icon name, but they may need the icon name for the "eBook" because all icons were the same. Anyway, many thanks for the sharing of the author and promptly adjustment.

    **** This is a very good launcher but I've found the following issue: 1. I imported the shortcuts but don't seems to be able to delete it unless I go mess around with the registry... the deleted shortcuts will just re-appeared. 2. Uninstall does not remove the registry entries.

    ***** Works great. Storage space much smaller than default recorder. My wish list is a control that I could include in a custom app to record MP3 instead of the WAV I get with the core.dll libraries... that would be awesome.
    ***** This is a great software, its the only one that is free which is better then Resco MP3 voice recorder... get it and enjoy.... the developer is a bloody hero!
    ***** This software is brilliant. It works flawlessly on my IPaq. The HQ compression runs at 128kbps and the MP3 is written directly to my CF memory card. I thoroughly recommend this & would like to say a big thanks to the author :) p.s. Make sure you get the right version for your PPC. If you install the PPC2002 version on your PPC2003 PDA the prog will hang after you stop recording.
    ***** This program is very good. However, When I try to record a long lecture into the SD card, the speech is distorded (some parts are lost and it sounds like the speech is fast), probably because of low transfer rate into SD card. I don't have the problem if I use the main memory. I tried other programs that are not free, and I found that this program is better than others.
    ***** Initially I was having the problem where the app froze when i tried stopping, but, there's an update for Pocket PC 2003! There's also a user manual there. I love this software.
    ***** PRO: Fantastic, usable, easy, good sounding. CON: Hang-up at medium and high rates!
    ***** Definitely a must for those who wants to store more voice recording using PDA. So far only bug I experienced is that the PDA volume is reset to zero after playing any audio file using the program.
    ***** Great software, I use to take voice notes of my team meetings. I use it to record an hour meeting into a 6 MB file.
    ***** This is an excellent program! I use it all the time for recording conferences, talks, etc. Nice, small, managable mp3 files. With a 256MB SD card you can get at least 35 hrs. I have noticed that when the battery runs really low, it acts weird, but so does the whole PPC.
    ***** This MP3 recorder is working great for me. I never experience any freezing problem. I am very impressed with the recording quality, but I think the mic on the Axim is of very good quality too.
    ***** This PocketPC freeware junkie says, "stick this in your ARM man." :) Seriously, this has replaced the default recorder for me. You can save to flash card, and the size difference between mp3 and the default uncompressed WAV output of the voice recorder applet borders on mystical. Recommended. Plus, it also plays MP3s too!
    **** This great that you can record mp3. But when I record a one time I must restart application for every time I record a note.
    **** If only one could influence the names the software gives to recordings. "Record1" as a filename is of no use, when after transfer to your PC all information as to date and time the record was made is lost. I'd like the software to use timestamps as filenames. Then one could really use one's hardware as a dictation device.
    **** Its awesome except when I save to storage card it records really fast even when I try to playback in other programs it is running too fast. My storage card is brand new and everything else works.

PowerCheck v3.5

    ***** The program is difficult to uninstall using the normal way because it is running once you turn on your Pocket PC. To uninstall, I used to connect my iPAQ to my PC. Then rename the file powercheck.dll (to any name) under my iPAQ Windows directory. After rebooting/resetting my iPAQ, the program should stop running. And it can be deleted as usual. This is a nice program and I am using it now. Just to share the way to uninstall if someone wish to do so.

    ***** I have purchased many Bible softwares but this by far supercedes all of them. The resources and ability to change between screen makes this a walking resource center. Although I know it is a free software I can't see how I can not send you a donation with all the programs I've purchased that don't even come close to your program. Expecially thank you for all the personal emails you sent me until I finally got it right (I should have followed the training) Thank you once again for creating such a program!     ***** This software is fantastic to say the least. It's got all you need including the ability to search for words/phrases and bookmark facilities. You can install and switch from various versions of the translation - I find Standard English to be the best. It's excellent - download it.

    ***** I have used PC E-sword for years. The Pocket version is an incredible resource to cary around with you. The Bibles are 3-7 MB. The Commentaries are 3-8 MB. There are dictionaries, devotionals, it has a search feature, compare, bookmarks, Greek, Strongs. With a 128MB SD card you can have 6 Bibles 3 dictionary's 2 commentaries, 3 devotionals...you get the idea. It works very well.
    ***** Simply the best I ever tried. I owned Laridian PocketBible (with NIV/NASB) and OliveTree with chinese. e-Sword is by far the best in terms of User Interface, Speed, Stability. The only downside is no NIV.

    ** This program generates soft resests... It freezes on an open window over and over and caused a hard reset on my device. It is a good concept but coded poorly.
    * I installed this app on my PPC 2002 and it brought up my phone and wouldn't let me close it. Everytime I tried to close it, it would either bring up my speed dial screen or enter a 1 like I pressed the number one on dialing a number. When I tried to open other applications, it would put the phone screen on top of it. I tried turning my ppc off and back on and it came on with the phone screen. When I tried to remove it I received an error that the .exe file was still in use and it couldn't remove it but when I went to running apps, it wasn't there to stop. I finally reset it and finished the remove.

    ***** Works like a charm. I have yet to make it crash. I have tried everything I could think of and it keeps running. Also I use the PPC as a wireless medical device running it full tilt. Pocket Nester runs in the background with no problems. Great for long experiments when I have to watch but nothing to do.

    ***** I like it a lot it works well. It thoroughly clean out programs that don’t want to uninstall themselves totally! Hasn’t done anything bad to my Pocket PC yet (I used to uninstall 7 programs so far). Although you can get into trouble if you are not careful. I uninstalled some program ( I cant remember) and when I uninstalled it using remover, remover asked if I wanted to delete the windows directory during the delete process! If I wasn’t paying attention I might have.
    ***** I don't know how I ever did without this program. I use it every week to delete anything and everything that I don't want on my equipment. Thanks ever so much to the programmer... and free at that!

    ***** Got a problem with this version on my iPAQ 4150 - doesn't run and when I uninstalled I lost the mp3 file association to Media Player (a little Registry editing solved that ... oh well). Back on version 0.93 - still GREAT! For the Jul 12 post: to blank the screen click the top left corner of WinamPAQ - Buttons tab and choose a button for "Screen Toggle".
    ***** This program is great. I set it to the headphone preset then compared the same song with Windows Media Player and winamPAQ, and winamPAQ wins hands-down in both maximum volume and sound quality. BTW: It DOES have a option to turn off the screen (the inbox hardware button).
    ***** The best out there. Excellent button mapping and the "only" PPC player I know with a real preamp and real equalizer. (something even the top stand-alone MP3 players don't have!) It practically blows-out my headphones.

These are only minor annoyances. A MASSIVE oversight was the lack of a screen blanker to preserve battery life. Hence this loses it one star. Otherwise the BEST player bar none.

One small observation - when you download & use the software to begin with, you may think that the software ISN'T working, because your GSM phone gives no indication that a PDA has sent a message through it. I would suggest a test message to someone who's expecting one from you, before you assume things have gone wrong - they won't have!

It didn't hang or load slowly at all, despite the fact I also installed it on my SD card and my iPAQ 2210 has older CPU (PXA255 400MHz).

    ***** Out of all the incarnations of this game, this one was the most challenging. It took a few months before I was able to beat it convincingly. A true litmus test of your skills.
    ***** Work well on my Dell. I've been playing othello for years and can beat it on the Amateur. Great AI engine.
    **** Good game. Maybe I'm not as good at Othello as I thought. After 10 games it became very frustrating that I was finishing with only 8 to 12 points each game.

    ***** This is a very nice battery monitoring program. Works great on my iPAQ Pocket PC 2002, no problems running or configuring and a very usable interface on the today screen. One small problem when I added an expansion pack (includes backup battery) and the backup battery always shows 100% even when it's empty. That having been said, it's free so why am I complaining... I'm not! Great work Tom!
    ***** This program is great, seems to work an all kinds of PDAs (I've seen on: and Acer, Toshiba and iPaq). It provides all the things you want to know about your PPC for easy viewing (battery reamining, free memory space including on memeory cards and PDA uptime). It's nicely set out and sits neatly on the today screen. Memory space even updates in realtime eg. You can see a file taking up memory space before it has finished copying. Thanks Tom Gigear, keep up the fantastic work :)

This seems to be a hardware issue witht he Dell since this event happens with ALL plugins and programs I've used, not just this one. This makes the battery up timer useless when for tracking since it resets when you powerup the device. One workaround would maybe be to have it not reset unless the "charging" state if longer than 10 seconds?
    ** After using this program, my battery level always reads 99% -- It's broken, and uninstalling did *not* fix it!

    ***** Excellent program, finally a today screen launcher that's free and easy to use. A little wobbly when adding 2 lines for the program icons, but otherwise it's great. But if the makers could make a "save as" scheme.... when you make a soft reset all the icons that I added disappears.

    ***** Too good! Superb piece of freeware that ensures great functionality. Options from within today screen are fully customizable to suit your needs. A must download product...
    *** Works pretty well, although the author uses the standard open dialog, which searches in "My Documents", for EXEs. The Japanese File Dialog Changer (FileDlgChg) allowed me to browse to where other programs were located. However, as someone else stated, it does not save the settings when you do a warm reset. I found an INI that is being created in the \Windows directory, but it's 0-bytes. So, all your settings are lost when you reset.
    ** It does the job but it looses the customised set of icons when performing a hardware reset. Considering that Windows CE is not really great this functionality should be included. I do not advise installing it until a patch is released.
    * Perhaps there is a problem for this app interacting with the Mobile 2003 interface, but if you are running the newer OS, then watch out for this program! It came in and completely deleted the proper icons for several non-ROM based programs which I had installed (among them Acrobat, Bible Reader, PocketNotepad and several others) and replaced them all with "plain vanilla" EXE icons. The shortcuts in several folders which I had created and added to the Start Menu were mysterious affected this way immediately after the program installed. A soft reset did not fix the problem. Lucky for me I had just done an iPAQ Backup earlier in the day! User beware!

    * Shame, but I cannot see any use for a list application where the lists are deleted after exiting. Spent ages inputting my shopping list only to find it had dissapeared when, on reaching the shop,I swithed on my PDA. Truly annoying.

Theme Generator

    ***** Thank you microsoft for an excellent application. You can create your own themes with this software PLUS it has a theme switcher, which will automatically change your themes on a schedule you set (if you choose to enable it). No probs loading or running it.
    **** I have tried it with my old I mate, it was great, but with the new I mate PDA2K where the new windows 2003 second edition you cannot send the theme you created to your device, its says the pocket pc 2002 is not connected.
    **** This app is easy to install & use, which are the top two criteria for selecting free software utilities. It is great for creating a new theme & modifying existing themes. It is a "Must have".
    *** Nice tool, although the files generated are a bit on the bloated side.
    *** I downloaded and used the app, only to have distribution fail to the device (PPC2002 not found). I'm sure there is something I've missed as it should work fine. On the plus side it is incredibly easy to create your own theme!
    * It is incredibly easy to create themes but you cannot change the color of fonts of the start menu. So I get white fonts on white themes. Ain't it stupid. Typical Microsoft.

tAgenda v1.1

    ***** This is excellent and essential software for any PPC. It's the only thing I need on my today screen at the moment. After downloading the software it took me about 15 to 20 minutes to get the settings exactly as I want them but it was well worth the time fiddling about. I was using Calender+ prior to getting this software, but being able to combine the tasks and calender option means you can display much more information, including what the tasks are, rather than there being some. Keep up the good work.

    ***** In a word 'stunning'. I don't normally bother to write about software I try, basically because I'm lazy! :P But on this occasion, I was so blown away with the complexity of the program (not to mention it's functionality & stabilty) that I felt compelled to review it. In mobile computing terms, this program is a work of art. You wouldn't think it was possible to do some of the things that this application can do on a pocket PC. Put it this way, the first thing that will blow you away is the subtlety & texture that the brush applies. Like drawing with real pastels onto textured canvas. Beautiful!.... & damn, if it isn't FREE too! Try it, you'll love it. Oh & while you're there, grab the plugins. The closest thing to PhotoShop you will find on the PPC.
    ***** I've used "Adobe Photoshop" on the PC and Mac since 1990 and feel that on the Pocket PC platform "Conduits Pocket Artist" comes the closest with features and interface. But... I've painted and drawn with traditional art mediums since the 1970's and am extremely impressed with Nefa's "Mobile Atelier!" This program easily blows away any competition as far as utilizing the pocket pc interface with the touch and feel of the traditional "wet" art mediums.
    ***** This app is very impressive and professional. I have lots of sketches on my ppc. It's worth every cent... what? it's free?

One niggle, I have just bought a wireless keyboard, and there doesn't seem to be a way of navigating using the keyboard (e.g. with teh Tab key). But what do you want for free? Try it. If you want a database app, you'd be daft not to.

    ***** This software should cost money. I can't beleive it's free! This compliments XS Forms. You get a WYSIWYG interface on your desk/laptop, and you can write queries also on your 'main' computer. If (like me) you don't understand SQL, theres a wizard. The program also has a tutorial. I could go on all day, but I suggest you download this program now (btw it's been upgraded to v1.03). Go on, do it now!

    ***** They hardly come better. While a little slow on my Qtek (it's a slow PDA) it has everything you have always wanted in a Gamboy emulator. and FREE!!!! Sound is very accurate, Graphics are very good. Little bit of skipping in some games but a 10/10. Nothing missed. Get it now and enjoy your trips on the train.
    ***** Now this is what a pocket gameboy should be people. Excellent sound, delicious speed, and enough compatibility to out do the rest I've seen so far. You can finally have it in big screen with anti-aliasing and yes with music ON! SWEET! Now I had problems with the speed originally but I turned on every component in preferences (except when you go in big screen turn of "Draw with GAPI.") Set the Audio Buffer to "16." Audio to enable, 22 khz (you can have it at 44), stereo, and 16 bits. Frameskip should be at Auto (I chose this because I got the most fluid frames (55+) possible, don't try the others because some games will recquire 0-3 frameskips which means choppy framerate. And you might want to get "HackMaster." It is technically free (If you don't mind the annoying "Please register" everytime you use it) and can put X-scale device to 498 mghz but I would advise buying it because it can make your handheld and go as fast as 597 mghz. And yes it affects this emulator dramatically. Thumbs up for great gameplay speed with music. This emulator has everything a gbc owner would love, my only complaint is that I wish you could change skins or have skins for this thing. But otherwise I give this emulator the best possible rating like a good hotel - a 5 star!
    **** Good emulator, but found 2 issues: 1. Hang after playing for too long (could be my PPC problem tho...) 2. Saves are not updated if system hang, although have save right before it hang... I resolved to doing a reset everytime I saved and then reload the save file.
    *** Great video emulation, very smooth motion, as long as the sound is disabled. With the sound turned on it moves like an arthritic old man with a bad hip. I tried several combinations of video and audio settings, but all were the same. Sound on = bad emulation; Sound off = good emulation, but an element of the fun is gone. I also tried sending a bug report to the e-mail address given on this page, my message was sent back saying the host doesn't exist. (insert confused look)

    *** The Spanish dictionary is greatly lacking the number of entries. Also, if a word can have more than 1 translation, it will list the ones it knows, but not tell the difference. Okay, but could be better.

    ***** What a neat little program! I never tried painting on my Ipaq before, but the quality of the tools and effects here impresses me (and I'm a Photoshop / Painter graphic artist). It's fun! My copy saves just fine, and it isn't even registered yet.
    ** Sadly, I have to agree with the first (Stuart's) review. This programme is so slow that it's useless. However, for the time it takes to install and uninstall, it may be worth having a go. The iPAQ h1910 is hardly the fastest machine on the market...
    ** Very limited you can not even save. It is also to slow to use just to doodle. One dot would appear every cm if you try to draw a line.

    **** This product is pretty awesome for free. Compared to the ones that you have to pay for, this seems to have all of the same bells and whistles. Great graphics, compatible with my VGA Pocket PC, and again free. If there was something for a wish list, it would be that it could automatically update itself upon syncing with a PC already connected to the internet.
    *** Limited city updates. Couldn't download where I live so useless to me. Couldn't view last day on my today screen because it was behind my scroll bar.
    *** Limited city selection and cannot update the weather data.
    ** Looks really good but we don't have 5 digit zip codes in Australia.

PocketMusic v3.0

    **** Great music Player. Oddly enough, it doesnt read all MP3 files. I encode in a VBR at 90% quality so the files are usually about 7-9MB. I encoded my entire albumn of DMB Everyday. The player reads most files but doesnt read others. Other then that, the program works wonderfully once you actually figure out how to use all the features. Would have been nice to have a Help file. The 10 Band EQ works very well. Best is that it will let you turn off the screen to conserve power.
    ** Up until version 1.5 the player worked fine. God knows what they tried with version 1.6. The player plays most of the file version 1.5 did, but tends to hang my PPC on some. And do not think it is a good idea to remove the flash card. The player, if opened, starts to skip to the next file and the next…, forcing a hard reset. I can recommend version 1.5, it is an easy to use player supporting most of winamps most popular functions and has additional benefited that windows media player dues not have.
    * sound quality is great. The problem is, it won't play a file all the way through without freezing up.
    * This player requires a feature package (pay 20 bucks) in order to play oggs, and it don't support shoutcast, very unstable (often hang). Get gsplayer instead, and 100% free.

Tropical Nights Video Poker

When I started in the seventies to run (write) fractal routines on the C64 from Commodore, it took a whole night to get a 640x480 pixels fractal. Today on my new H2210, it takes less than one second to get the whole Mandelbrot picture (320x240) !!!??? Incredible... Please go on introducing new formulas to this very nice piece of software. Congratulations.
    ***** Although the Ipaq h2210 does not have any Strong ARM processor, but a Intel Xscale PXA255 at 400 Mhz, the very nice "FRACTINT" program runs perfectly. Let's hope that more formulas will become available in the future.

My only complaint is that the "buttons" feature doesn't do anything.

    **** The first time I ran it, it reported success, but my Inbox seemed to not change. It turned out that I had to close and re-open the Inbox program (Start->Settings->System->Memory->Running Programs->Inbox->Stop) before it reloaded the database and reflected the fixed count.     ***** A very addictive and fun game. I have had one small problem. Very occasionally, a ball will 'skip' over a line that has just completed leaving an empty uneliminated section of grid. If you attempt to put a new line in this section (in order to eliminate it) it can lock up the Ipaq requiring a reset. Other than that it's great.

The only thing I would complain about is that the server is currently down So I feel that he should allow other people to start their own servers for this.     **** For my 3970/4150, Gigabar works perfectly. I can't use my pocket pc without Gigabar, especially the "close" function. However, now with the Hx4700 with VGA screen, things have become a bit unwelcome. As the task bar is only 240x26 pixel, whereas the screen has a 480x640 pixel, the bar is too small. I'd rather pay for an application like gigabar to make it work on my Hx4700. Keep up the good work, Thumbsoft.

    ***** This is absolutely incredible! I loved my old TI89 for its ability to factorise and for its comprehensive unit conversion database. Though it is a bit fiddly and slow to operate (no buttons :-( ) the functionality is incredible. Just like the original, each time you load up, it returns the where you were previously - which I now find an invaluable feature. Eat your heart out, all those people with those dumb sci-calc programs! As far as stability is concerned, I've only had to reset the calculator once when it crashed (the calc software itself only - the emulator has never crashed my device). Pretty powerful stuff.
    ***** This is fantastic! All I ever wanted! My old TI92 has never made it back out of my drawer - this allows me to do complex algebraic manipulations any time, on the move, plus the unit conversion is unmissable.

However, if I run WiFiFoFum again, without a reset, it works fine.

    ***** Its hard to get roms working on my Jornada because its an older model and there just aren't enough buttons to assign to the SNES controls. Fortunately, this one came with onscreen controls so I can just click on the screen without turning on the keyboard every 3 seconds. Works great with all my SNES roms. It didn't seem to recognize my nes roms, but I'm not sure if its supposed to anyways. Easy to pause and save game progress too! Just click the screen, no brainer.
    **** Easy to install and works just fine, though the sound needs a little work (perhaps that's just down to the ROMs I've been using?). Much better that slogging your SNES around with you.

    **** I couldn't ask for anything more. I was so tired of clicking on "settings," then clicking on "system," then clicking on "power" This little utility has an icon that sits below on the menu bar. The icon tells you how much battery power you have left or you can click on it for details. It also lets you know when you need to recharge your battery. Nice work!
    *** Everything about this program is good, except for one problem. Activate the program's menu and click on Information. Once in Information, click the "NEW" button located on the lower left corner. Once you do that, you can't activate the program's menu anymore. You need to perform a soft restart. Very strange.

Pocket Spades v1.1

    **** This is a good version of spades. The action is fast and the scoring is automatic. You are able to bid a blind nil to start a hand. The only problem is that the partner doesn't know how to cover a nil bid. Many times the partner will play a lower card than my card and stick me with a trick. A couple of hands later the partner plays a higher card in the same suit. If he were live, we would have some "words." Still, it is a game I can play for a long time.
    *** I'm glad there's a free spades game. The interface is well done but the AI (which the author didn't write) is really stupid and after a few hands, I quit playing because my partner is really dumb!

    ***** After trying quite a few notes-based application such as PhatNotes, etc, I settled on Tombo. It allows you very simply to specify a 'root' folder on your desktop which is kept synced with the same folder heirarchy on your Pocket PC (using ActiveSync). Tombo notes are very simply plain text files. I find plain text is the most useful and flexible format for making/keeping text notes - it's not application sensitive, allows searching and the file sizes are small. Also, you are not tied to any app for editing. Tombo includes encryption, a flexible folder tree structure and best of all, it's free. Definitely recommended as a workhorse note organiser.

The settable billing rates, project names, clients, etc. make this a very useful program for the PPC - congrats to a fine piece of programming!! Hopefully the next version will have integrtaed multiple timers, so we can go back and forth easily between projects.

    ***** A great emulator that is simply ideal for the Pocket PC. The native Genesis resolution is best fit with the 320x240 display. And the lack of buttons (just A/B/C and start) on Genesis makes most games a natural fit on the PPC. Unfortunately, the beta2 has bug and won't work in landscape mode. I encourage everyone to get the beta1 on the website as the landscape mode works. If the emulator supports sound, it would have been excellent!

myExtensions v1.1.0

    ***** I had installed WinAmPAC to listen to .ogg files and the program associated itself with all audio file formats, including .wma and mp3. The program raised an error message that was unreadable, so I uninstalled it. The uninstall did not reassociate the audio formats back to Windows Media Player, so my files were left as orphans. My Extensions fixed the problem for me in no time.

I just went ahead and purchased a book program. Booklib had no ill effects to my PPC (other then the soft resets). Easy to remove.

    ** Poor software. Functionality is very limited, interface is a bit clumsy (e.g. no hardware button scrolling etc), and it is too slow.

    ** First of all, it open source. That's great. However, the interface is spartan. There is no browser button on the scan directory dialog, which makes configuration a bit tricky. Small gripe. It doesn't seem to be able to play all mp3s. It played only a couple of MP3s from my storage card, where as MS Media player works on all but 1. I'm not sure why this would be, but I expect it could affect a wide audience.

My Stopwatch

    ** I like the simplity of the software, but unfortunately it doesn't work. It runs about about twice the speed as it should. After 30 real seconds, it was showing 1 min 5 seconds. It makes the software, at least for my hardware, rather worthless.

    ** I got problems with controling the little man, when I try to dig down he eaither skips or digs now it should dig from left and right side it digs only at the right.     * This skin crashed my Pocket PC, I made a soft reset and I lost all the data and config, never seen anything like this before, thank god I make a backup in the flash every week.

    * When a coutdown is started and you leave the programme the coutdown stops and everything is set back to programmerss settings! So there is no countdown for users settings. Only use your PDA for the countdown for 365 days, so do not bother downloding it it is a waste of time! Just like the other countdown it does not work!

KelBran NetStatus v1.0

    * Not ready for prime-time. Great concept but it kept freezing. I had to nuke it to close it. After I ended the program, the Pocket PC continued working just fine. I would recommend only if bugs are fixed.
