OS/2 users:
You will need the following to run Internet Rex:

OS/2 2.x or higher
Minimum MPTS wr08610 strongly recommended, required if you intend to run any of Rex's servers.
If you intend to send mail via POP3/SMTP server or via FTP, you will also need a method of establishing a connection with the net under OS/2. For this purpose, I highly recommend InJoy or OS/2's dialers.

Information on automating connections with Injoy can be found in this file.
Rex now also includes a scriptable dialup program for OS/2 and sample command files to start a PPP or SLIP connection using the dialup program.

32-bit Windows users:
32-bit versions of Windows include Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. You will need the following to run Internet Rex:

Windows 95 version 4.00.950 or higher, or Windows NT version 3.51 or higher, or any version of Windows 98, Me, 2000 or XP
If you intend to send mail via POP3/SMTP server, FTP or BinkP, you will also need a method of establishing a connection with the net under Windows

Internet Rex can make use of the dialup networking portion of Windows.

DOS users:
You will need the following to run Internet Rex:

DOS 3.31 or higher.
An 80386DX or compatible processor.
If you intend to send mail via POP3/SMTP server, FTP or BinkP, you will also need a packet driver supported connection to the net.

The DOS version of Internet Rex includes a scriptable dialup program and a packet driver for PPP connections. More packet drivers can be found here.

Linux users:
You will need the following to run Internet Rex:

A Linux kernel with support for ELF binaries.
If you intend to send mail via POP3/SMTP server, FTP or BinkP, you will also need a connection to the net setup under Linux.

Configuration files for Rex from other operating systems are compatible with the Linux version, but only if the processor byte order is the same. You cannot use Linux configs created on a Mac or DEC in the PC versions of Rex, not even the Linux version.
