Was born in Middlesbrough and lived in Hoyland Common, he was the husband of Alice Bedford Street (Formerly Rose) of 44, Central Street, Hoyland Common, he enlisted at Birdwell and was killed in action on the 28th April, 1915, while serving in Gallipoli.
Research suggest that Fred Rose Private 5936 1st Bn. Border Regiment and Fredrick Rawes Private 5935 1st Bn. Border Regiment were friends that served together .
