Quinlan. Arthur
Research shows that Arthur Wild was born and lived at Platts Common, but may also have been know to some as Arthur Quinlan(d), since his mother was Florence Quinlan the wife of Timothy Quinlan, this may have been the reason why the Quinlan(d) family name was added to the Hoyland War Memorial.
The only Arthur Quinlan(d) to die in WWI was born in Kilkenny, he enlisted in Kilkenny and he died of exposure on the 27th November, 1915, while serving with the 1st Bn Royal Dublin Fusiliers in Gallipoli, it was also discovered that this Arthur Quinlan's name had been missed from the Helles Memorial, CWGC have since confirmed that the name of Arthur Quinlan will be added to the Helles Memorials addenda panel.
