Was born in Hoyland, he was the son of Moses and Edna Matilda Moody of 51, Gill Street, Hoyland, he enlisted at Hoyland and was killed in action on the 22nd March, 1918, while serving on the Western Front.
His brother Robert Moody who was born in Holms, Rotherham, was also killed in action on the 4th November, 1918, while serving on the Western Front.
