Loftus. Thomas

The husband of Annie Loftus, he was born in Hoyland and enlisted at Barnsley.

He was killed in action on the 18th October, 1914, while serving on the Western Front.

November 1914 Barnsley Independent newspaper,

       Mrs. Loftus, of Victoria street, Hoyland, has
received a wire from the War Office stating that
her husband, Private Thomas Loftus, of
the K.O.Y.L.I., has been killed in action.
Deceased, who was 32 years of age,  was a
Reservist, and when the war broke out, was
within two days of the expiration of his time.
