Illingsworth. Lawrence

He was born in Hoyland on the 7th April, 1894, and eventually became a Miner at Silkstone Colliery, he lived with his parents Albert and Edith at 4, Milner Street, Platts Common, he enlisted in the York and Lancaster Regiment on the 3rd September, 1914.

He transferred to the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve  and joined "A"Company Anson Battalion on the 22nd October, 1914. On the 28th April, 1915 he became part of the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force in the Dardenelles.

He died of wounds on the 19th May, 1915.
