He was born in Milton and enlisted at Birdwell on the 17th March 1911, he embarked Southampton the the 10th August 1915 and joined the Expeditionary Force France, he was wounded and returned home on the 8th November 1915, returning to France on the 24th March 1916.
He was killed in action on the 1st July, 1916, while serving on the Western Front.
