Andrew. William

Was born in 1894 in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Lancashire the son of Edward Henry and Ruth Andrew he lived at 30 Elm Street, Hoyland Common, a Miner at Rockingham Colliery.

On the 15th September 1915 he enlisted at Barnsley in the 14th York and Lancaster Regiment and was absorbed into the 15th Bn. York and Lancaster Regiment on the 30th October 1915, he was posted to France on the 5th April 1915 and joined the battalion in the field on the 10th April 1915, he was reported missing on the 1st July 1916 and later the same day reported wounded dead , while serving on the Western Front.

His Brother Private 241615 John Andrew 1st/5th Bn. York and Lancaster Regiment also served and was killed in action on the 13th April 1918 while serving on the Western Front.
