JOIN THE DYNAMIC
TEAM AT GABRIOLA'S NEWEST NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION
The Gabriola Auxiliary for Island Health Care
Society (Gabriola Auxiliary, for short) is a non-profit organization
incorporated under the Societies' Act of British Columbia, and a member
of the British Columbia Association of Health Care Auxiliaries (BCAHA).
Our mission is to support health care programs and patient comfort
services on Gabriola Island such as Meals on Wheels, Drivers to
Doctors, and Lifeline installations.
We also donate funds to other non-profit societies on our island whose
needs meet our criteria. (See our
Donation Policy). Our primary source of
funding for our donations is
The GABE Shop, a bustling thrift store
entirely staffed by our volunteer members.
We are a working society. All our members,
including our Board of Directors, donate a minimum of three hours per week
to the tasks they enjoy most, whether working as a Sales Associate in The
GABE Shop, driving people to appointments (Drivers
to Doctors), delivering
Wheels, or helping to run one of our many fundraising events.
