Our Dogs

We have 3 Eurasier family members, Beau, Ajona & Keesha

I had done some research over 20 years ago and learned about the Eurasier, but was unable to find any in North America, so I moved on with my life, always keeping this breed in the back of my mind.  I thought they were very beautiful and the Readers Digest Book of Dogs said they were cat charmers.  I have always had many "critters" in my household, including cats, so I thought they were a perfect fit.

Keesha was our first Eurasier, our older Samoyed was not going to be around forever and we knew that we somehow had to bridge the gap - having more than one dog never takes away the pain and grief of losing a beloved pet, but it helps -  Keesha is the cuddler.  She has no qualms about jumping up on the bed or the couch with you and laying right on top of you.  I have used her to wake up my teenager,  going into his bedroom with her, all I have to do is say "lick his face".  Keesha is up on top of him in a flash nuzzling and licking his face - what a way to wake up!

We were privileged to have Beau move in with us when he was about 10 months old.   Beau is an incredible dog, he changed our household, kept us on our toes and reminded us that owning and training a dog is hard work!  Beau is now mature and the most obedient and easy of our three (inside the house).  He seems to fully understand English and sometimes he is a mind reader.  I simple point & he obeys.  Beau is full of life and wants to please.  He loves to eat, loves to run and chase, but is the calmest inside the house.  Beau is also a conflict resolver often getting in between two dogs at a dog park who are arguing with each other.  Beau likes to sit on our feet.

Ajona is our gem from Germany. She is my Velcro dog, she is happy where ever I am.  Actually all 3 dogs follow me around the house, or around the park or woods, but Ajona is definitely very fond of me.  She is also the "watchdog" of our pack, letting us know if anyone is encroaching in the back field or delivering a newspaper to the front door.  Ajona is a true "puddle duck" loving to swim any chance she gets.  Luckily for her, we have lots of lakes, rivers and an ocean that we frequent.  Ajona has more of the "princess" personality - she is beautiful, she knows it and she is just fine with it.

Our pack really enjoy each others company, we often have visiting dogs that the girls teach manners to and Beau makes sure they know he is the boss without much effort.  The each have their place in the home and we have never had any struggles.  However, when we give out nice chewy treats, inevitably we find them all piled in Beau's corner!  We really enjoy the outdoors, I have more pictures of muddy & wet dogs than most people have of their children.
