In
addition to the listed shops and merchants, there are several temples which
provide drugs, potions, scrolls and spellcasting.
House
of the Coin [Waukeen]
With
trade being so important in Valleydale, the church of Waukeen has become one of
the most powerful religious organizations in Threshold. It is also one of
the most wealthy, offering both normal temple services as well as money lending
and brokerage services. The House of the Coin is a large white marble
structure with golden inlays. Over the main temple entrance is a golden
coin of Waukeen that is four feet in diameter made of solid gold. As
temple dedicated to a mercantile god, their services are seldom free, but all
are welcome and encouraged to haggle for better prices. The House of the
Coin boasts the second most worshippers in Valleydale.
High Priest: Overgold Sylvia Velashar (CL 15)
Priests: Coinmaster Marek Wall (CL 6, Bard 3), Coinmaster Grith Stout (CL
9)
Other members: 7 minor clerics (CL 1-3) and 15 lay members
House
of Fortune [Tymora]
The
third largest church in Valleydale, the House of Fortune is sprawling marble
structure with a large temple at its front. Over the main temple entrance
is a golden coin of Tymora, a gift from the neighboring temple of Waukeen, for
the two share a close relationship. The house is seldom full as its clergy
travel about Valleydale, often accompanying explorers, miners and caravans.
High Priest: Lucklord Nathan Shelby (CL 12)
Priests: Cleric Stanley Ravenhair (CL 6)
Other members: 4 minor clerics (CL 1-3) and 8 lay members
House
of the Grand Harvest [Chauntea]
The
largest church in Valleydale hosts the largest temple, and likely the
simplest. The Chantean temple is a granite, many windowed structure with a
large row of granaries that serve as storage for farmers within Valleydale.
The clerics and lay members are seldom at the temple, instead being out in the
farmlands of Valleydale, assisting local farmers in their tasks. While the
high priest of the temple commands the clergy, she shares power within
Valleydale with the High Druid of Elton's Spring, Steven Mosstail.
High Priest: Pastoral Laura Wheatseed (CL 16)
Priests: Wheatmaiden Misty Dale (CL 9), Earthmaster Brad Thresh (CL 4, Exp
4)
Other members: 3 minor clerics (CL 1-3), 15 lay members
Helm's
House [Helm]
Helm
is worshipped by a great majority of the militia in Valleydale. His house
takes the form of a small keep made of granite built into the city walls
northern entrance. Two imposing suits of armor stand beside the entryway
to the city, watching out over the land. Helm's House also holds the Order
of the Watchful, a monkish order.
High Priest: Watcher Aaron Boarslayer (F 4, CL 7)
High Monk: Watchful Master Daniel Severin (M 9)
Priests: Vigilant Mantis Mug (F 3, CL2)
Other members: 8 lay members (F 1-3)
House
of Light [Lathander]
Thankfully
for the Valleyfolk, the priests of Lathander did not follow their Shadowdale
counterparts in their temple creation. Their temple is a true work of art,
however, with granite walls punctuated by beautiful stained glass windows.
The temple is surrounded by a large circular courtyard marked as a clock
is. On the very top of the vaulted roof of the temple is a gleaming glass
spire which acts as the dial to the massive sundial. The House of Light
has very friendly relations with the House of Soothing.
High Priest: Sun Lord Malakai Morningstar (CL 10)
Priests: Sunrise Elery Morningstar (CL 5), Sir Terrance of Lathander (Pal
5)
Other members: 2 minor clerics, 1 paladin apprentice, 4 lay members
House
of Soothing [Ilmater]
The
soothing house boasts a large following, just behind Tymora's temple. The
clerics of Ilmater are nearly guaranteed free food and lodging wherever they
travel within the dale as they offer their healing services free, as well as
burial rights for all. Their house is outside the town walls about a half
mile towards Estle, where the Threshold graveyard is located. They have no
high priest, but boast a fairly large group of priests and priestesses.
Priests: Adorned Michael (CL 6), Adorned Nidia (CL 6), Adorned Samuel (CL
5), Adorned Chomish (CL 4), Adorned Zephyr (CL 4), Adorned Brady (CL 3)
Other members: 6 lay members
Fortress
of Battle [Tempus]
Tempus'
followers are made up of militiamen and bugbears. Once a month, a small
army of bugbears 'invade' the city to worship at the fortress located on the
Southern entrance to the town. Nobody minds, however, as the bugbears like
spending money when in town, and have come to Threshold's defense many a
time. The Order of the Steel Fang is a bugbear unit of Threshold that is
fearless and often assigned to the most dangerous of combat duties.
Priests: Warmaster Gerred Thaskor (CL 6), Drek (F 4, CL 2 - bugbear)
Other members: 4 lay members
Shrine
of the True [Torm]
This
small shrine is attached to Helm's House. It is manned by a single elderly
paladin.
Other members: Sir Mallory of Torm (Pal 5)
Great
Library of Deneir [Deneir]
While
Deneir boasts only a handful of worshippers in Valleydale, it does boast an
impressive library. The library is the life's work of Thomas Gentry and
rivals the libraries of great cities like Suzail and Waterdeep. It is
visited often by scholars, researchers, adventurers and wizards, and as a result
the library has flourished.
Leader: Librarian Thomas Gentry (Exp 6)
Other members: Librarian Elvis Smith (Wiz 3), Librarian Wilma Gentry (Exp
4)

In
addition to the listed shops and merchants, the druid enclave of Elton's Spring
offers spellcasting services, scroll making, salves and potions.
Elton's
Spring [Chauntea, Silvannus, Mielekki]
Built
around an ancient spring of ancient power, the enclave has several wooden
buildings and shrines that cover a fairly large area. All wishing to
worship, seeking advice, or simply wishing to enjoy the natural surroundings are
welcome within the enclave. Many animals wander the spring. While
within its confines, hunting of them is prohibited and they will not attack
anyone without great provocation.
High Druid: Steven Mosstail [Chauntea - Druid 17]
Druids: Ellimor Brightleaf [Silvanus - Druid 10], Sissisus [Mielekki -
Druid 3, Lizardfolk 2]
Rangers: Vonith Elissar [Silvanus - Ranger 10 - Wood Elf], Jurg
