Different Strokes Calgary (DSC) is a non-profit, volunteer run swim club inclusive of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender and their straight friends, dedicated to the master swim program philosophy of "fun and fitness for life" in an environment that is both positive and supportive.

Swim Times & Location

Swim Times

Sept 2011 to June 2012:

  • Thursdays 6-7 pm
  • Sunday 5-6 pm

* There are no swim practices on long weekends.

Location

Swim practices are at SAIT pool

1301 - 16 Ave NW
Calgary, Alberta (see map)

The pool is located in the center of campus (identified as "V" in the map).

Free parking is available in lot P1, immediately below the campus centre (remember to bring your parking ticket with you to be validated).

Registration & Fees

All members must register using the registration form.

Members must join Swim Alberta ($30 payable to the DSC) and pay fees by one of the following methods (see Fees for detail):

- annual fee: $450, payable in installments

- drop-in card: 5 swims for $45, 10 swimms for $80

- single drop-in: $10

IGLA Swim Meet in Reykjavik, Iceland

May 29 – June 2 2012. Mark your calendars for next spring. The international Gay & Lesbian Aquatics will be hosting their annual swim meet in Iceland. A few of us are already talking about it and soon we will need to make a commitment on flights and hotel. More information: youtube, facebook.
