Welcome to the Canadian Araucana Society, Devoted to the
preservation of the Araucana in Canada and to the promotion of the
breed as described in the APA & ABA Standard of Perfection, in
both size Standard and Bantam as well as all it's varieties through
breeding, exhibition, and dissemination of information.
A) To encourage the study of all phases of breeding Araucana with
the aim of improving conformation and temperament.
B) To foster sportsmanship and friendship among Poultry
Fanciers
C) Provide our members with adequate information on breeding
Araucana
D) Help our members locate Hatching eggs and /or Stocks
E) Supply our members with needed help when ever possible
F) Help general public recognize what is an Araucana

Araucana pictures of this rumpless and tufted fowl this rare
breed sometimes wrongfully called the Easter Chicken. In the
poultry world this beautiful chicken breed is bred for it's
wonderful characteristics of blue egg and gracious look of the ear
tufts as well as her odd rumpless look. It's origin can be trace to
South America and the Mapuche Indians in Chile. This race of
chicken has multi-purpose uses. You will find this breed at the
poultry show as well as in backyard flock as it is a very good
forager and hardy chicken that has a descent rate of lay of
beautiful bluish egg shell color as well as having a plump and well
flesh breast.
