Well, it's certainly been a fast-paced week and a half! When I went to see my regular OB last week, she discovered that my blood pressure had gone up quite a bit so I was ordered to spend the rest of the week at home and we were sent to Fetal Assessment for an ultrasound. To no one's surprise, stubborn little Purple Monkey is still breech. He or she is in the frank breech position and I've posted a picture of what this looks like as well some ultrasound pictures on the "Fetal Assessment" page. We were then referred to another OB who specializes in breech deliveries. He set me up on the Antenatal Home Care program (a nurse comes to your house once a day to check your blood pressure, baby's heart rate, symptoms of problems related to blood pressure, etc.) and recommended that a c-section was probably in our best interests and they would likely not let me go much past 38 weeks.

This week has been round 2 of appointments and everything is pretty much the same. My blood pressure has stabilized since I've been home, so I'm taking my vacation now and plan to start maternity leave next week. We go see the OB again tomorrow, so we'll hopefully have a c-section date slated. It will most likely be at the end of next week! It feels like everything is now moving so quickly...

A 37 week belly picture is up too.

The 34 week belly picture is up and I'm wearing one of the wonderful maternity shirts that Carol lent me. Purple Monkey is still breech, which will mean a scheduled c-section if he or she doesn't turn head down. They're going to give us about 2 more weeks and then we'll be sent for an ultrasound at Fetal Assessment to see exactly how Purple Monkey is positioned. We also got some exciting news that our friends Glenn and Angela are also expecting their first baby in April!

Babies everywhere!

The 30 week belly picture is now up. We're getting into the home stretch now, which is a bit scary. I'll be considered full-term in less than 6 weeks!

There is now an updated belly picture and some new pictures of the nursery looking  a little more complete. We've been really busy with prenatal classes, washing baby things, and just trying to get ready ready for Purple Monkey's arrival. It feels like time is moving so fast now...

I've added pictures from the surprise baby shower on July 22, 2005. Thank you so much Keri and Claudia for arranging everything. We're also happy to announce the arrival of our niece, Audrey Charlotte, who made her appearance on July 28, 2005. Congratulations Carol and Randy and big sister Lindsay!

I've added a belly picture, some pictures of our nursery room starting to take shape, and some scary facts to shock and amaze. Dave has been able to feel Purple Monkey kicking more often in the past week and we can see my belly moving as well. It's all starting to feel much more real. I can't believe how fast the time seems to be going.

I've finally got around to finishing up the web site so that everyone can finally see a few of our ultrasound pictures. I'm finally starting to develop a bit of a belly, so maybe there will be some belly pictures up here before long as well. Purple Monkey is getting more active and I'm feeling stronger kicks throughout the day now. Dave and I are starting to feel horribly unprepared now that we've crossed the halfway point and are starting to look at baby furniture and other goodies for the baby room.
