Members Layouts and Interests

CBRM Home Page The Club Layout Events Links

Most of the members of the club have their own layouts and models. Indeed the club does not own any rolling stock, so the club layout is designed to be a generic British location. So the work of the members is highlighed here:

Dean Turta

One of the group's non-Brits, he has started an Norfolk layout prompted by the surprise gift of a British locomotive and rolling stock from Cyprus. Who would have thought!

Sentinel

Just completed: a 100hp Sentinel super-heated, vertical-boilered, gear-driven shunter from an Allan Howell (Cyprus) kit, and the manure wagon brass kit from Blacksmith Models (UK).

Chris Jessop

His interests lie mostly in the Midland Region, specificially Wellingborough, which inspires his ongoing layout project which will be based on the late 1930's. He is, at the moment, side-tracked into building control systems and electronics, when he has leasure-time left over from ballroom dancing.

Martin Dawe

He models the Southern Railway post war 1946 until the end of stem in 1967. He has a special interest in the Bulleid Pacific locomotives in their various guises, and has a large model fleet of them to prove it! He builds locomotives from brass and white metal kits, as well as coaches and wagons, and has scratch built or heavily modified locos and coaches as well. His basement is also home to the club layout, 'Much Muddling' and he hosts regular 'Muddling' work sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and weekends during the winter work period when required. New members and those interested in helping out are always welcome. Contact details are on the home page.

Peter Johnson

Peter's current masterpiece is Leyburn. It was featured in the February and March 2008 issues of British Railway Modelling magazine. Leyburn depicts the Wensleydale station in a hard winter setting in January 1954 (the last winter before cessation of passenger traffic) or January 1963 when the branch was reopened in order to serve villages that were cut off by road.
