The Medieval Crest Tapestry

My primary passion in beadwork is still the loom.  Little loom projects don't interest me much anymore, it's the big, complex projects that I like to tackle.

The Medieval Crest Tapestry was done from a pattern by Cari Buziak, and is 121 beads wide and 180 beads tall.  It was made using Delica seed beads which are known for their uniformity of shape.  Some of the gold beads are in fact 24kt gold coated beads.

Of course, all those shiny beads make it hard to photograph....

Detail of the tapestry mounted on the dowel.

Shiny beads do not scan well.

The Delica beads fit together like little bricks - they are a dream to work with on a loom project.

Mounted in an 11x14 frame for display.

My first time using decreases in loomwork.
