Puerto Vallarta: Los Tules Resort: "Best Place in Puerto Vallarta~ Hands Down!!!"

My boyfriend and I went to Puerto Vallarta from Nov. 9-15th, 2003 and stayed at Los Tules Resort. We had the greatest time there! I was personally very impressed with the lush green gardens, the beautiful ocean view from our room, the hotel room itself, and the friendly staff. As soon as we were checking in, the woman at the front desk was very helpful answering all of our questions on the nightlife, restaurants, etc... We had the chance to view some of the interiors of the other various resorts and hotels, and we both agree that Los Tules was the best!!! Now, we won't stay anywhere else! It was 4 minutes to Malecon (downtown) by taxi, and has a shopping mall across the street. If you are even considering Puerto Vallarta, STAY AT LOS TULES-YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!

Just returned from a week at Los Tules and a week at Mayan Palace, Nuevo Vallarta. ( Much preferred Los Tules...Mayan Palace might as well be in California...you really feel like you've left Mexico when you check in there!) The grounds, the pools, the sundecks, the location, the staff truly make Los Tules an ideal place to stay. We had a 3 bedroom/4 bathroom condo and were very pleased with what it had to offer. Since we were there in October, things were very quiet...

Puerto Vallarta: Los Tules Resort: "The Best Kept Secret in P.V.!"

When we arrived, we where amazed at the beautiful grounds and immaculately kept facilities. We where greeted by Mariette, the resort representative who turned out to be a shining gem for our trip. She not only provided outstanding recommendations on everything, she made you feel like you had a friend that you could trust. Our room (master) had an ocean view that cannot be described with words! After a day downtown, we just wanted to go back to "our "resort" for rest, relaxation and just the sound of waves crashing on the beach. Another highlight was the poolside restaurant. Adulto, the maitre d' has the personality of a long lost friend. Always greeting you by you name, he sincerely assures that your dinner is a true pleasure. And the food! Everything we tried from the filet mignon to the jumbo coconut shrimp to the Mexico Night menu was outstanding! We didn't want to leave the resort. We ventured to numerous places via the bus system, which is a bargain at 4 pesos per person ($.40 US) in the city (el centro). It's not a wise idea to travel during "rush hour" though, unless you want a "free"massage and sauna! just kiddding. We are going back to P.V. in a few months, and without question, it will be at the Los Tules Resort.

We spent a week here last year, a dream come true. If you are looking for a real fancy place, this is old Mexico. The units are large and colorful. Not plush but really nice. As for the grounds it is like a dream. They have the best gardens in Mexico. Lovely-lovely. The staff is kind and well informed. Everyone was helpful, the food and drinks are real good (drinks strong and cheap-check out happy hour) In walking distance of everything. Real good grocery store across the street (Giganti). Most units have kitchens, it also has a small store right there. The pools are everywhere as are every kind of flowers. And how can we forget the tame peacocks. Walk the gardens over to the Fiesta Americana-but you will want to return to Los Tules. You can walk downtown or taxis are cheap-or take the buses with the locals. Have Fun.
This is the main pool where the cafe and childrens wading pools are. Building 6 is at the bottom on the south side while Building 5 is at the top. The ocean beaches are too the left. You can see the rambling layout that is very unusual in these days of huge highrises around a couple of pools.
This is a closer shot of the pool and cafe with the back end of Building 6 in the background.
Here is one of the quieter pools immediately north of the cafe if you want to read undisturbed or play in the pool with friends. As the aerial view up above shows, the area between the beachfront buildings and the shopping is heavily treed with coconut palms.
These 2 pools are the next ones north and the one in the foreground is a wading pool.
This is the hot pool. It is secluded in back of the property, making it more appropriate for nightime, or quiet times alone with friends.
One of the 5 top quality tennis courts. Booking them is no problem. We prefer 4 to 5 pm when they are in the shade of the many coconut palms.
This is Cafe Chapultapec up close around the main pool.
Here is the floor plan for the 3 bedroom villa.
