We help archives and other information repositories convert their finding aids, catalogues and inventories to XML/EAD and/or HTML encoded documents, making them instantly available to Internet users
|
- Conversion Service
-
With our XML/EAD/HTML Conversion Service, a customer will send us the source material, which can
be in a variety of formats: paper documents, MARC files, word processor documents, scanned text, database file/item lists. We deliver XML/EAD - and optionally HTML-encoded finding aids.
Our Service is particularly attractive to institutions which do not want or cannot afford to
purchase software or to train their staff in XML/EAD encoding.
We are very proud of our reputation for superior quality (click here for testimonials), built on two solid pillars: our
people and our encoding methodology.
The fast turn-around and the cost of our Service are very attractive, due to our automated encoding tools and techniques. Click here to find out more about conversion costs.

- SeArchProteus adds keyword search capabilities to finding aid repositories

Many visitors of web finding aid repositories ask:
"How can we search?"
We designed SeArchProteus to answer this question. In addition to its powerful keyword search capabilities, this software product features a unique list processor which makes the display of search results meaningful and easy to understand. Its functionality includes presentation and navigation through the archival context in which each retrieved item exists. In addition, the users are able to constantly switch, at their convenience, between browsing through finding aids and keyword-searching the entire repository.
SeArchProteus, was developed specifically for EAD databases, and is based on advanced object oriented technology.
The SeArchProteus packaged offering includes:
-
installation and integration of SeArchProteus with an institution's web finding aid repository, and tailoring of the HTML front end, including the search template.
-
