The Alexander Technique

The Alexander Technique is a simple and practical method for self -improvement that offers skills for life-long learning. It is a process through which a person learns basic, simple principles, that allow for improved functioning of the psycho-physical self. Learning the Alexander Technique can help you prevent or alleviate conditions associated with undue tension or poor posture. The Technique teaches the skills to recognize inefficient or harmful movement patterns through self-observation, experiential and theoretical practices and how to replace them with movement of a more efficient nature.

As Frank Pierce Jones explains in his book, "Freedom to Change", the Alexander Technique opens a window into the little known area between stimulus and response and gives the student the self-knowledge needed in order to change the pattern of the response.
