Photo (below) taken from the top of Kinloch Drive, with the Kidston house in the foreground. The north half of the exisiting house at Pheasant Run was built by Coronel Glossip, while the south addition was built by A. T. Howe. As noted in the Mackie Foundation History, the large acreages bordering the east shore of Kalamalka Lake were subidvided off the Hozier Ranch and orchards Price Ellison (our great grandfather) owned in the late 1800's. The Howe family sold us the property in 1962 largely because of this connection and trust in my father to keep the property intact. |

The Ormsby house on the left can be seen along the waterfront,
- It has been beutifully renovated by the present tenants who
have also restored the gardens to their original glory.
The Mackie Barn can bee seen to the right of the Kidston's roof. This photo was taken before the Mackie house was built (circa 1915.)
The white building in the center background is Orchard Lee Lodge, which burned down in the 1960's - a relatively luxurious resort in its time. The building was located at the SE corner of the present day "Summer Tree on the Lake" development.
